Yep you gotta take out your best player and ball handler when down 4 and 4 minutes left. Everyone knows thats when you put in your struggling freshman to run the point.

Cox took Dowtin out with 4:07 trying to get him a quick rest around the 4 min timeout. Unfortunately there was no stoppage of play until URI called timeout with 2:24 left. URI didn’t score in that stretch and are now down 6.

I’m a huge David Cox stan, but that was head scratching game management. We’d have been better off if we pulled a random guy out of the stands to coach that last two minutes, because there no way a random guy out of the stands would have Dowtin on the bench or Preston in the game. If Jeff needed a break, use a timeout or spill some water on the court or something. Absolutely cannot come off the floor under any circumstances in crunch time unless they have to take him to an ambulance on a stretcher.

URI went 5 minutes without scoring. Dowtin was on the floor for 3+ of those minutes.
They are losing this game because Dowtin and Cyril are 3-17. They also have 5 TOs
