Solid half overall. We are doubling Charlotte in FGA’s 34-17, which I’m not sure I’ve ever seen that before. 7 offensive RB’s to 0 for Charlotte. We’ve turned them over 9 times to 6 TO’s for Rhody. 5-11 from 3, most of those fell in the first 10 mins as we got out to a 20 point lead. I personally think we got f’ed on a couple calls during The last 10 mins when Charlotte crawled back into it.

I really like Fatts but would not mind his minutes cut to 30, think he would be more effective, and would like to try a bigger lineup in spurts.

Tbh, I’m really not overly impressed with Malik Martin. He’s ok. I think he’s Charlotte good.

Fatts did not kill us tonight. He was our leading scorer and had some big assists and steals. Not the most efficient night shooting the ball but was 8-8 from the line. Was instrumental in getting us off to a big lead early. Good game from him.

Clean game, weathered a few runs, nothing really to complain about.

Lower level competition but nothing is given and it’s a back to back game, so we’ll take it.

The experience these guys are getting, and the bonding/team chemistry coming from this week is invaluable. This will all help in March and next year.

I really like Tyrese Martin a lot. Kid is really coming along.

I’m sure there were other things but I’m exhausted so goodnight.

He got trashed on this board yesterday for making basically one bad closeout at the three point line leading to a dunk. I watched the first half of that game and he was battling on the boards and hustling all over the place. He is the farthest thing from a lazy player. I'm pretty sure when he was recruited they did not tell him that he was going to be playing forward. It's a major adjustment especially after sitting out a year.

Just watched the recording and I have to disagree with DC_Rams.. Malik Martin is a nice player. Nice size, nice handle, nice offensive game. We missed out when we let him get away. I like our freshmen but he would certainly help this years team.

Also nice to see CT woke up and played a great all around game!
Good to see improved FT shooting, but a few too many TO for my liking.
Next up a ‘true’ road game vs Hawaii.

Had no desire to stay up for that game last night. A win is a win but a victory over such a crappy team doesn't excite me much. I will be more impressed if they were to beat Hawaii on its main home-court, a feat Rhody is yet to do so far. I am not expecting a win over the Rainbows and fear that the team returns with a 1-2 record versus mediocre to bad competition. That poor second half against Bucknell made this a trip to forget.

Yes! I didn't love last year's small ball and that was an effective group with pieces that made it work. This year's version doesn't shoot it too well and they don't have the traits of last year's group.

Jarvis Garrett was such an impactful player here. Talk about a good late recruiting class of guys in the spring that year.

We need to not have such lofty, unrealistic expectations for our freshman. The transition to the college game is hard. Some guys grasp it quick, others slow. It's a process. I think all of our freshman are going to have great careers here at URI. A coach north of us said last year (I think) "Freshman are gross" and he's right... unless you get 5 star recruits, you can't expect too much from them (and even then it's not the case; see Quinerly at Nova).
