I think the jump ball to Dowtin for immediate layup is by design - is that the 2nd or 3rd time we've seen something similar?

Funny he mentions giving up the opening tip layup, considering we did the exact same thing against PC

Finally back in NJ after a thrilling victory. The URI crowd was loud and on the officials from early on. I won't say anything about
the officiating because a pretty accurate description has already been painted by many on KB . It was a tremendous effort by the
Rams to maintain composure against the WVU press all day and even take advantage of it by attacking with speed and great passing .
The Rams looked like the superior team . There were few uncontested shots by WVU which forced them to have poor percentages, except
at the foul line where they spent most of the afternoon. It was a fun game to be a URI fan . The team is coming together quickly and barely
resembles the team that lost to Stony Brook and Charleston or even the one that faced Providence not that long ago . They proved they can
beat a good team even when the outside shots aren't dropping that frequently, substituting intensity and aggressiveness o compensate. It
looks like the reports of the demise of the Rams as a top A10 contender may have been premature and a 20 win season may still be in the
making . Can't wait to see what they can do in Hawaii . I was born not far from where they will be playing . Sure wish I could afford to be there
for the next three games . Anyone making the trip ? If so, I am so jealous. Mahalo Rams for a great performance yesterday.

Stony Brook and COC don’t belong in the same sentence. COC is a tough out for almost any 351 D-1 college basketball teams. Sure we played bad against them, but some of that can be attributed to them. They just beat a tough and LONG VCU team the other day as well.

Don't know about that...but did spend a year one month in Pitts for training and made a trip out to a casino in Wheeling.
Plus...it's Americana...good to get out and see some country now and then.

One final thought on the WVA game.....I thought it was great that Cox had the guys keep pushing aggressively attacking the hoop until the very end......no standing around trying to shorten the game.....this was something that I hoped we would see, and I know it's still very early in DC's HC career, but more of that please.....way to close out games against a good opponent.

I thought that stuck in Fatts' head as well. Had to be a major discussion point all week in practice.

I saw more Fatts' drive and dish moves than we had all year.

Same on the 'shorten the game' issue. We had the ball just under two minutes, holding way outside and my gut was telling me that was going to happen...and as I started to say, "Nooooooo, don't do th-...." someone, I forget who now, took it to the hoop. Mini celebration at our house. Huge thumbs up on that.

Agree with that. Those late game situations with the lead are the best time to get easy baskets. If you’re not looking for them, you end up with a turnover, a tough shot as the shot clock expires, or, best case scenerio, 2 pressure free throws.

So much disrespect towards their HOF coach, I'm sure they'll come back to reality soon.

On a post-game show back in the 90s, Steve mentioned a West Virginia losing streak. Don replied, "Jethro and Elly Mae aren't too happy with Gale Catlett."

hey luke, way to drive up and support! Seems almost everyone at the game thought the officiating was horrible.
Watching it on TV, just seemed like a lot of fouls committed/called. Biggest and only real blown call I saw was in our favor (foul on CT, when it looked Cyril was trying to draw a charge) As someone that saw it in person, and has seen it on tv...what are your thoughts? Or anyone else that has had both views...

That was amazing that they gave CT the foul over CL as CT wasn't even near the ball. Surprised they didn't go to the monitor for that but it was in our favor

NYGiantsfan , The call against Ct actually should have been an offensive foul call as the WVU player bowled into Langevine . Take a look at
it on the replay that is up . I checked it out today. also, Cox was correct, the WVU player walked on the play he got Teed up on . The t on Harris
was also unwarranted( happened right in front of me) all Harris did was to give a pained look when WVU was given possession on the ball tapped out of bounds . He didn't say a word. And the fifth foul on Harris , he had position for the rebound, but was called for the foul anyway . Refs didn't seem to like Harris. looked like Fatts' tech was just two players who got tangled up . Didn't agree there was anything intentional. So, yeah, I thought the refs were pretty lousy, but were better the last 10 minjutes or so . It seemed as if they were on edge early on . Maybe Huggins put something into their heads . Anyway, that's how it felt at the game, Dave . I will say it didn't feel quite as bad watching it on the TV replay today, though.
