Way to go Umass! Ugh I don’t really mean that...I dislike Umass almost as much as I dislike PC which is almost as much as I dislike UConn. Of course I’d like to see URI play D1 hockey, because it adds to the schools reputation as a leading state unviversity. A university that offers all kinds of academic and D1 sport opportunities for its students. But I would say a D1 hockey program at URI would be another finicial drag on the athletics department...one they simply cannot afford at this time.

UMass fans are the ultimate front runner bandwagon variety. Hoops only drew well when Calipari was there and had them ranked. Same thing now happening with the hockey program.

URI's hoop team, even when it struggled, never had attendance drop so low as to what UMass is now regularly seeing. I root for any A10 member school to succeed even if Hockey is in another conference other than the A10
I would think rooting for your own conference teams to succeed should be natural, no?
UMASS beat then #3 ranked PC twice, beat #18 Princeton, beat UCONN, split with #8 Quinnipiac and split with then #1 ranked Ohio State
UMASS has Yale tomorrow night
Hope they win the National Championship
And beat PC again on February 23 for the hat trick
