Just saw that he’ll be back next week. Might have dodged a bullet. Great Rhody crowd today at Harvard. We all cheered as they made their way through the tunnel after tbe Win. Defense was great.

Bill Koch with the postgame write up.
The guys sound very confident.

So glad Jajuan will be okay.
We obviously need him, but it was nice to see the defense get us a win.

This guy is amazing
Look at the move he makes at the URI 29 yard line to bust this open

I am definitely enjoying this season. Great win - the defense was terrific and knowing that both sides of the ball can win a game sets this up for a special year. There are a number of things that I don't like about Fleming as a coach. But I am hoping for a special year - playoffs are a real possibility. I hope they get it done and Fleming gets a new contract. There will still be a number of things I still won't like about him. But he will have earned his keep and I will continue to root for the Rams?

What are some of the things you dont like about Fleming?
Lawson is kinda making it hard to find too many faults.
The defense has been great except for when David Pindell scrambles.

I just worry if we will be able to do anything next year when Lawson is gone and if we can keep guys like Aaron Parker and Coulter.

Anybody see an announcement from the school about Lawson's injury?

The rumor at the game last night was that it was an ACL.

My issues with Fleming are primarily his coaching. I had no problem with his hire , though I wanted an offensive coach. I have no problem with his first year. The kids worked hard, gave it their all and never quit. But in years 2-4 I saw a team that made dumb mistakes, too many penalties, too many turnovers, predictable play calling, poor time management, lack of discipline, etc. These teams won 1, 2, and 3 games respectively. They had the talent to win double these numbers. The talent on the team improved but their performance did not. They never overachieved. I don't like that Fleming hired his son as offensive coordinator when he was not qualified. I especially don't like how he treated his graduating players who decided that transferring to a FBS school was in their best interest. All of these things - except for how he treated Catalina, Steinmetz, and Boyd - are petty nick pickings of a longtime Rhody alum and fan that will be washed away by a succesful season - and that is fair. Go Rhody!

Lawson has MCL tear - out 4-5 weeks. Outside of Stonybrook they still have 3 home games they can win in the next 4 weeks. Brown, Maine, William and Mary. Best wishes to JuJuan.

Really a shame. This team would easily win those 3 games with Lawson....now it's going to be a struggle and the defense will have to step up big time.

This was their chance to win 7 or 8 games.....not likely now, unless Lawson heals quicker than expected.

The offense will be much more conservative in order to avoid turnovers, I would think. Crap.

Heard same as Ed,except different time frame.
I would circle Stony Brook game.
They can beat Brown with Harris at QB and Vito (if plays better).
They can beat Maine if play well and way UMaine played Sat..
Vito did not play well,but:
The line did not block for Vito and WR's dropped passes.
If not for another stupid penalty for roughness on OG they would have put game away earlier or maybe scored.

Keep in mind that Maine was playing their backup (a guy who originally committed to us and decommited to go to Maine) Saturday. If it's a battle of the backups in two weeks we have a shot. If their starter is back (and it sounds like he will be) then it's a really tall order

Who starts at QB this week? I was not impressed with Vito at all. From the outside looking in, I feel like Harris would be the choice. He has the experience edge, and didn't look awful last year. He could make all the throws and get the ball to the play makers. He doesn't have the dual threat capabilities of our other QBs and he was way to turnover prone last season. Will be interesting to see what the coaching staff decides. At the end of the day, they are in practice and the meetings with these guys so I trust that they know best!

Agree with Bos8, didn’t seem like Priore had the arm strength to make the throws downfield and with our WRs being our biggest strength that really hurts us.

Harris certainly can. He is in the mix.
Bet a donation ,either he starts or plays if Vito struggles.
Harris was FBS playa. Beauvais NFL prospect.
They should toy with people the next few games.
Don't let these two off the hook.

I disagree with your methodology of putting our players on the hook..let's root for them to perform to the best of their abilities....they are kids..put the coaches on the hook....

Pretty wide range here - some say MCL and out 4-6 weeks, and this says day-to-day.

Hard to see how the coach’s description of the issue matches the MCL tear news. Maybe he is just doing his best to delay opponents from preparing for a different quarterback next game.

It's really sounding like hes not going to be out for a month or so.
I dont think it's too common for a coach to say "well hes dsy to day and hopefully we can get him rolling later in the week"

When he knows that he'll actually be out for a month.

Its sounding like maybe they'll just sit him for the Brown game, hope to have him ready for Maine.

I'm hoping we will start Harris. He should be able to understand how to use all these receivers.

I think there's too big a difference between day to day and over a month, even if Coach wanted to throw people off. Sounds encouraging to me.

I take nothing from that statement...one way or the other......I don't believe there is a requirement of an injury report at this level of football....therefore it is strategically best to be as vague as possible....keep everyone guessing.....we couldn't even get video from Harvard before the game.....why give anyone info....

That being said......we are all day-to-day......

I don’t know much about Priore. I don’t want to judge him solely off of his performance at Harvard either. Coming in at half, star player injured, on the road against a good team...lots of factors.
With that said, my gut tells me you might want to go with Harris. He has lots of game experience, a great arm (yes inaccurate last year, but the strength is there), and a senior guy.
It’ll be interesting to see. I think our defense, with our running attack, should be enough to beat Brown at home. But it’ll be close. Rivalry game, you just never know.

Brown's defense is probably not as strong as Harvard's but let's not forget that our running game was AWOL against Harvard.

Well I'd say Jajuan, Parker and Coulter have certainly stepped up.
Not convinced about Beauvais. He may lack the speed to be an NFL guy.
Either way the offensive talent is pretty abundant.
