This man will be on the roster by Thanksgiving after Rose finally throws in the towel and retires with 1/3 of a knee left.

That's awesome!!! He'll be in the league soon enough. He's going to bull his way in. Tough, smart player.

Re: Terrell signs with Minnesota
Here is a pretty good explanation of it. But basically it limits the amount of days they can be on the NBA roster to 45, and then the rest of the time they are on the G-League roster.reef wrote:Congrats JT
What exactly is a 2 way deal ???

In accordance with the NBA and National Basketball Players Association collective bargaining agreement, NBA players will continue to be able to enter into two-way contracts. NBA two-way players will earn $77,250, prorated for days spent on an NBA G League roster, and the NBA rookie minimum salary, prorated for the days with their NBA team, for maximum potential earnings of $385,000 next season. This season, 83 players across all 30 NBA teams signed two-way contracts.

They get paid less while they’re in the G league but get the NBA minimum while they’re with the big club.

Re: Terrell signs with Minnesota
The contract for G League only is $35,000 for the season ($7,000/month). JT will earn $77,250 ($15,000/month) even if he doesn’t get called up.Rhody74 wrote:They get paid less while they’re in the G league but get the NBA minimum while they’re with the big club.
In addition to their salaries, players under NBA G League contracts will continue to have the opportunity to earn additional money through affiliate player bonuses and NBA Call-Ups. This season, about one quarter of players under NBA G League contracts also earned an average of $44,000 in NBA affiliate player bonuses – a total of more than $3 million on top of their NBA G League salaries. A record 50 NBA G League players earned a record 60 GATORADE Call-Ups to the NBA this season, generating earnings of more than $11 million, or approximately $225,000 per player.
A record 53 percent of players on 2017-18 NBA end-of-season rosters have spent time in the NBA G League during their careers. Every NBA team had at least six NBA G League veterans on its end-of-season roster and seven had 10 or more such players. A record 101 NBA players were assigned to the NBA G League for development or rehabilitation this season, including 13 players selected in the first round of the 2017 NBA Draft.
They play 50 regular season games + playoffs. The NBA is finally creating a ligit minor league.

Most of the two way deals will be made today with undrafted free agents.hrstrat57 wrote:Quick signing !

Almost all of the second round picks get guaranteed money now (usually two years).

Agreed. It was really fun watching him improve every year and finishing it off with a killer senior year. Also a great model for any recruit coming into the program.eli#10 wrote:Very very happy for JT to get this chance. I really enjoyed watching him for the past 4 years. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!

Guaranteed a roster spot into the fall, so he will get a shot in the preseason most likely.

Better to be tough and defense-first than weak and offense-first. Guys who can purely score are a dime a dozen. Guys who can defend those elite scorers are not. Congrats to JT on working hard and developing his game to be on the verge of a successful NBA career.

Get news for Jared and the URI program.
Jimmy Baron was one Rams that had skills to be a three point specialist in the NBA, but could not keep up defensively with NBA guards. Still wish he got a shot m.

Re: Terrell signs with Minnesota
I’m not sure about the timing, but did Terrell, Donovan Mitchell, Devontae Graham, and Jaylen Adams (UConn) all play together at Brewster Academy? How do you beat that High School backcourt?

Prep School not High School some only play there one year.Section104 wrote:I’m not sure about the timing, but did Terrell, Donovan Mitchell, Devontae Graham, and Jaylen Adams (UConn) all play together at Brewster Academy? How do you beat that High School backcourt?
The 2013-14 team did have Terrell, Mitchell & Graham. Jalen Adams wasn’t on the team.
They won the Prep School National Championship in 2014. They have won it five times since 2010.

Re: Terrell signs with Minnesota
Still high school. I went to Portsmouth Abbey and played against Brewster. St Marks used to be the loaded team when i played (Lubbick, Mara, Murphy bros, Caleb (Zona Center)) but it looks like Brewster now regularly produces NBA level talent.Rhody83 wrote:Prep School not High School some only play there one year.Section104 wrote:I’m not sure about the timing, but did Terrell, Donovan Mitchell, Devontae Graham, and Jaylen Adams (UConn) all play together at Brewster Academy? Re: Terrell signs with Minnesota
Brewster is a private preparatory school that plays in the New England Prepatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class AAA league. They accept students who have graduated from high school for a postgraduate year. Just like Tyrese Martin did at Massanutten Military Academy. Brewster Academy won the National Prep School Championship.
