The supposedly great Big East with six bids and two number one seeds has just a single team in the sweet sixteen. League did not live up to the hype.

Raise your hand if you didn't call Xavier being a major, MAJOR fraud all season and prayed URI got paired with them in the tournament rather than an NBA playoff team in Duke. I'd have ate the disrespect of being a 9 seed to have gotten into the situation Florida State was in.

Maybe this is the place. Ive wanted to shout ARD out for Clemson's success the past few days. Don't want it being sucked into the drama wormhole.

The guy has had quite the run as an assistant the past few years.

I realize this is not going to get much notice in the current shiticane we've got going on over in the coaching carousel, but has anyone else been following Bob Walsh during March Madness? He was a really good coach at RIC and then took the Maine job and had a real bad time because...well he took the Maine job. But they recently released him and he's been tweeting about Rhody/PC/tourney - seems like he might be back in the biggest little. He's actually a pretty funny/insightful dude. Plus he disagrees with Jim Donaldson. He was recently on the Yurview bball podcast (Luke M. and Cox have also been on in the past few months as well) - I don't know how he is on TV but he could turn out to be a good local media hoops guy.

Having been at the Nashville site this weekend, attending games as a neutral fan was a lot of fun, especially on sunday when I got to see 2 of the better games in the tourney so far! the Nevada comeback was crazy in person. Pre game there was an almost truce of the UC and XU fans with the idea they made up 75% of the fan base. Everybody turned when the basketball got in the air!

Tough day for us to be watching, but Loyola may have just put in the dagger with the 3 pointer with 6.3 seconds left. They are up 4. Nevada has the ball.

Martin hits a 3 - and now down 1 secs left, but Nevada has too many fouls to give, so it's pretty much over - they need a steal.

great game. would have like to see Nevada win since we played them and will again next year, but it was fun watching Loyola. Pretty much looked like they were in a layup line for most of the second half. nice diversion to whatever else was going on today...

The best/worst thing about the tournament is the seeding. If we wind up in the south we’re in Atlanta playing Kentucky right now.

Or in the east we’re gearing up for purdue. God damnit. We had to face the one team we couldn’t.

Duke and Syracuse combined for 39 bench minutes last night. 22 for Syracuse, 17 for Duke. 8 of 10 starters played more than 30 minutes, and the other 2 played 29 each. Five players played 40 minutes, and one played 39.

You can still not deserve a bid and make a sweet 16. It’s not mutually inclusive.

We lament the poor match-up versus Duke, but a four guard offense can handle a Duke type team but that offense has to show excellent shooting ability and the Rams were streaky at best and in the last 5 games when the pressure was the highest, they deteriorated further. Case in point, last night's Villanova win over WVU highlighted Villanova's consistent good shooting in FG's, 3-pointers, FT's of 50.0, 54.2, 85.2 for a 189 total which can be compared to the 190 the NBA strives for. In comparison, URI in its last five games was 157, 161, 126, 138, and 115.
