I think it will be interesting to see where Padgett goes...I mean, he was at Lville, which is big time, but...wasn't that team supposed to be nationally prominent this year? And make a strong NCAAT run under Pitino? I mean, I know Pitino is a better-than-most coach, but to take the team from what was anticipated, to playing in the NIT...? What kind of offers does he get? (Am guessing an asst job somewhere...but what do I know?)

I know the state has a hiring process, but that's been circumvented before.
The state has lost control of the University. With a 9% contribution, they don't have much leverage anymore.
Lol. The state has total control of the University. RIBGHE controls 100% of how the budget is spent, regardless of what is contributed.
Which is total BS. The state wants to treat us as a private institution and poorly support us, until it's time we try to do something proactive and good with the measly 9%. It's a joke.

Agreed. Elect someone, ANYONE, different than the person who is currently in office in your district. No one is doing anything to help URI. Gina wants to make CCRI free but won't direct any money to the flagship - and she wonders why we can't get any high quality employees or employers to stay.

Note to Dan. Announce you're staying. Sign the contract. Tell everyone that you will be at URI next season.

Easy Peezy. Stop the madness!

There will be PLENTY of good jobs open in the next few years. Screw UConn and Pitt.

Unless X or Louisville is one of your dream jobs. Then forget it.

Louisville is an absolute sewer. They could have sanctions into the next decade.
Does Dan want to swim in that filth. Probably won't be dancing there for a while

If there's no announcement today or even tomorrow it's real telling.

Dan could be waiting to be courted by other programs.

Louisville job now open. X and or SH could be very soon. Great timing, ugh.

There are a few legislators who actually do care about URI. It's your job as a voter to ask your representative and senator where they stand on the state university. The "throw them all out" mentality sounds good -- until you find out that the new guy is no better (or even worse) than the old one.

Do a little homework before casting your ballot.

Of course hope I’m wrong - I was wrong about UofA so hope I’m wrong about all the other P5 jobs opening up....

Louisville might be a sewer but you can buy a lotta plumbing for $4m

I think Bobby H gets the call first from Louisville tho. He already TMR once. There’s tons of stuff on the WWW speculating BH to Louisville.

Telling about what?

Wanting to put a timeline on things is a fools errand. Earlier people were saying that the longer things went the more confident they became, now it means Hurley is waiting for other offers.

Nobody knows anything and trying to assign timelines or saying that Hurley must say certain things is silly.

Beautiful conclusion to his story with EC. For me, one of my greatest moments as a fan was when EC broke that poor kid from Davidson's ankles going up for the slam last year. After all he had been through, that was the sweetest form of redemption, and conclusive proofs that he was all the way back. He was our MVP in the A-10 tournament last year, and our best player in this year's NCAA tournament. I'm gonna miss him - and the unique relationship he had with Coach Hurley.

I just had a great pie. Stoked Wood Fired Pizza (truck) outta Mass. The true key to a truly great pizza is the crust, what sets apart very good pizza from the best. Both texture and taste.

Stoked had it going on- super hot wood fired oven gave it that crisp and char, soft on the inside. Then just a few quality ingredients on top.

Lots of programs nervous about losing their coaches.

Xavier, possibly Seton Hall.....one after another.....why would Mack want a job that could be on probation for a LONG time?

Now the Bonnies, Buffalo....with rumors of Schmidt and Oats in the running at Pitt. UConn could hire Oats.

Dizzying.

012, that looks great!
