A friend of mine who is the personal attorney of a B of T member at UConn told me 20 minutes ago that "This DEAL is COOKED and BAKED..." meaning all the conjecture of Dan Hurley to the University of Connecticut is OVER.

Hurley will be the next coach at Connecticut. Money was the most important factor but not the only one. There was clearly no sensitivity or regard for players and fans of URI. Yes of course he feels bad for Russell et al. BUT the cash cow element of this takes precedent. It is all business.

You can take it for what it's worth. The person who told me has a second hand connection (I know, I know) to the program. He's told me all along that as long as the school was willing to work with him, he'd stay at URI over UConn.

While there are no guarantees until things are signed, I have never knowingly posted false information here, and am not a URI hater.

If he stays, it would only reinforce the positive things people who know him have said about him.

The idea that money was the biggest factor, and having no regards for players tells you all you need to know about the credibility of that post.

I wouldn't say that. I would say its mostly money but let's look at the facts... Hurley is a builder. He can build programs (Wagner and URI). I have total faith he could rebuild any program. Pitt is in the ACC, it doesn't take much for a kid to have interest in an ACC school, add in a good coach like Hurley....

Hurley could have Pitt a national top-25 program in 3 years, tops.
