There is nothing I have learned from this report that wasn’t already expected. When hasn’t Hurley’s agent listened and established market value for his client?

I’m not saying he won’t go to UConn, but there’s no new news here.

Over time it will become common knowledge that this deal was brokered weeks ago. I know many people don't want to hear this but UCONN is big time and would never have done all this without a plan in place. Unlike us who are looking for another diamond in the rough. I do hope we are extending our search beyond David Cox.

Until Zags or Koch reports a done deal as fact this isn’t a done deal.

I heard wildly different things within the last few hours.

If he is going, a thank you Dan is all you’ll get from me. If he left it’s because he believed the support here was maxed out.

We need to hand the reigns over to Cox or we will risk losing every recruit he’s brought in, to include Jeff and Fatts. Be careful what you wish for, Cox is our guy and he deserves the shot.

It means nothing. Another Cox recruit. Will be fine if this goes the other way and URI does the SMART thing.

No idea, just curious timing. It could be that Hurley contacted him saying he’s leaving. Could be Hurley said don’t believe what’s being reported. Could be he burnt his pizza in the oven. I find the timing to be of interest if nothing else.

The recruits signed an NLOI. There are always conditions to their release. The most typical is the leaving coaches new school and other conference teams.

He should talk to other schools. A coach's contract isn't worth the paper it's written on.
That is a rule that should change across the board, in my opinion.
But, if you can legally look around, who can blame him?
I just wish we weren't put through this every single year. It gets tiring after a while.

In the end, I think he stays.

Hope this isnt true . But if it is its likely that recruits will follow. This is the time for you the fans to rally around the recruits. Remind them that URI is more than 1 man. When Will Wade left us last year VCU fans bombarded recruits via twitter telling them to stay. We ended up keeping 3 of the 5 incoming. I think a lot of that had to do with the amount of attention fans showed. You will survive this.

The recruits signed an NLOI. There are conditions that can be put on them to release a player.

You are just jumping the gun on this. A coach has no control over recruits who signed an NLOI. The school does. Only the school can release a recruit and can put conditions on the release.
