Rhode Island, through dumb luck, really got screwed to be the #7 with Duke being the #2. You can't have a worse matchup. They would have had a chance against the likes of Cincinnati or Purdue.

The same play that Russell got called for a foul on happened on shots by Rodney Bullock against A&M and the Charleston player against Auburn, and neither shooter got the call in those games. Russell's size hurt him on that, as the refs anticipated that he'd have to foul.

Wish we were in Purdue bracket... Just don't match up well with duke.. We just don't have the consistent knock down shooting to attack their zone...was hoping they wouldn't get blown out... Make it respectable guys.. Come on

I expect us to wake up and play aggressively 2nd half and to make this a game - need JT to shoot early and catch fire - just play with heart RHODY / we got another half of hoops - make it count

This is a 3-2 extended zone. It's not the shooters. Need to expose the middle and it's just not even being tried.

Duke's coach says that both teams are playing hard it is just that Duke's baskets are falling in and URIs aren't. Even the commentators are saying Rhody are positioned right. They just need to calm down and execute better.

Well, we got really lucky with our first round draw, as we did last year. Eventually a team like URI is going to play someone with superior talent. We knew coming in we'd need to play a flawless game and hope Duke didnt get hot from 3, so far neither of those 2 are happening.

I think the danger of losing games late in the season really cost URI in seeding (obviously). Avoiding this match-up would have been a good draw. Joe's was the game that may have altered seeding and a chance at a historic run. A really tough tough situation looking back on it as Hurley admitted to not having the team prepared. Hopefully he learns from that so in couple years when URI is back in this position Hurley understands the stakes better.

I’m expecting a much better second half... EC and Dowtin playing great. We just need to get stops and play aggressive on the offensive end. We just need to settle in and we will be fine.

Rhody is not getting good shots. No problem with the threes but when you take 21 shots from 2 and how many were near the basket? The defense is funneling us to the worst shots on the floor. Of course they aren't going down. They are the worst shots on the floor.

Instead of being mad. The last 20 mins just enjoy watching these guys and what they have accomplished and where this program is going! It will be a very long time before you see 5 seniors stick together and play.

Agree we do need to swing the ball into the corners. We haven’t created all the angles necessary to beat a matchup zone with y’all players. We need to attack the baseline a bit but Terrell is the only player on the roster who can do it effectively. The size and mobility of their bigs is tough tho.

Russell is perhaps our best weapon.

We have missed at least a dozen easy shots.
