I like their thinking, but due to the refs letting them play I think the Sooners height will continue to be a problem. May need to adjust and drive then kick for open shots instead of forcing tough shots in the lane.

i like the move, especially from a freshmen. very surprised he didn't get a call. would have been nice to have a second look at the replay though

I would like a replay on it too, but think the defender went straight up and down. That is probably what the ref told Dan and he seemed satisfied.

Refs have been pretty inconsistent both ways. I agree that was a foul but there is no way Young’s second foul was a push off.

That was masterful. Oklahoma does a lot of arm bar type stuff. Rhody is just harping on that.

They just have to gut it out. Find a way here to get on top.

Yeah not too many complaints from the refs I thought both of Youngs offensive fouls were borderline

Beaten in every aspect of game and down 4.

OU exposing URI lack of a power 4 player. Denying the high ball screen and forcing Matthews to the right.

Well coached game by OU so far, but make a few shots and we still win.

At the half: Fundamentally, we have done a great job of staying in front and moving the basketball. There has been too much ball watching after the ball goes up, though, and on multiple occasions our ineffectiveness to box out has led to second chance opportunities and points for Oklahoma. 3/7 for 40% from the free throw line is currently the difference in the game (35 - 31).

We lose if:
1. We cannot stop the two man game early... we need to use our depth at guard to fight under screens and force Trae Young to rush his decisions. Andre Berry must be decisive and effective on the hedge. Foul trouble on our bigs will be crucial as always and being in the right position will be of the utmost importance.
At the half: We have done a great job thus far playing the two man game but are having clear issues dealing with Oklahoma's size inside. Cyril's indecisive nature under the basket has cost us a couple bunnies, though. If we are to overcome this deficit in the second half, Cyril needs to be sharp when the ball touches his hands.

2. We need key contributions from our best defensive players if we want to win. If Stan Robinson gets zero steals, we lose.
At the half: Overall, the defense has been quiet. Outside of tenacious defense by Fatts up front, there haven't been many individuals standing above the rest. Stan had a nice block, but still zero steals. We are losing.

Have to give shot blockers a little pump fake and get them off their feet. Our shots at the rim are either getting blocked or are very tough shots. Get that shot blocker up and at least get a foul.

If we're going to stay close with this team, Cyril is going to have to come up big in the 2nd half. OU knows it can get points in the paint when they want and they'll throw it in alot to start the half, this will likely decide the game. If Cyril can stay on the court, we'll have a chance.
