call me an over reactor and I'm sure I am going to get a lot of flack, but this team was OVERRATED. I don't care how good the RPI is. They have 1 very good player and he pretty much gave this game away. As of now, there is no doubt that St. Bonnies deserves a higher seed. We've had 2 good wins all year. Big f'n deal! Haven't beaten a good team on the road in 2 years.

I am so disgusted in this team, but I probably shouldn't be. Water finds it's level.

I can't think of another team in this sport or any sport that has squandered so much in 4 days. I loved this team 4 days ago. These were two of the most pathetic and infuriating losses I've ever seen in all my time following sports. Just didn't bother to show up on senior night and got embarrassed by a bad team, and with a chance to redeem themselves with a good road win just gave a game away tonight that I wouldn't have been able to come up with a scenario in which they'd lose with 1 minute to go. It's really just sad.

We can blame Dan for trying to take the air out of the ball again to kill clock. We have proven we aren't capable of that because we don't have the 3 point shooters to open the lane for our slashers.

Brutal, absolutely brutal. Honestly, EC is a liability. He is the worst best player I've ever seen with my own eyes. Not his fault either. That ACL injury changed him both physically and mentally.

Choked this away. Troubling trends have emerged late in the season. Can't even make ft's when needed. Can't close the deal with a decent lead at end of another game (similar to SBU game).

I will type verbatim what my brother just texted me (he's a RI fan, big college hoops guy, but reasonable):

They can no doubt make a deep run...wouldn't want to play them...and I always think a conference gets stale, especially when you are 16-0...need to regroup and get to final (A-10), or not win one at all and rest (for the NCAAs)...

NCAA this year - if you are a 6 or 9 seed, who cares, this year I think is really weak for the higher seeds...

A-10 conference blows overall, but URI is good, and deep...but trending down...

The step back 25 foot air balls, the spin move into 2 defenders, the missed FTs.

Great kid, but no longer a great player.

I was going to wait until tomorrow to calm down before posting, but my access over the next week will be questionable. They certainly blew this game at the foul line and by missing a few bunnies. 61-55 lead with under just under 2 left. Missed 3 FRONT ENDS of the 1 and 1. It's simple - you hit your foul shots and you win this game. They absolutely snatched defeat right from the jaws of victory! Unbelievable!

I have no issues with the coaching.....they certainly got to where they needed to be. Up by 6 with under two to play and going to the line. From there you need to execute.

It's going to be a long 7 days.

in the last 40 seconds our STARS really shined.

EC misses the front end of a one and one then commits a stupid foul giving Grady a chance at a three point play (I believe he missed it).

JT misses TWO front ends and then takes SELFISH GAMBLE and costs his team the game. Nice hero ball JT!

you all talk of 8, 9 and 10 seeds? why? because we played a difficult OOC and beat FGCU, Charlseton and UNCA at home...Oh yeah...the big neutral court win over bubble Seton Hall. We won 5 games over top 100 teams all year. NONE ON THE ROAD.

If this team doesn't win the A10 tourney and doesn't get an at-large, I will be the first to say I agree with the selection committee. they don't deserve it!

Do you think the lack of preparation for the Joe's game coupled with the loss...broke the general culture of this team as it relates to work ethic? From my reading this team always prided itself on hard work including extra hours put in by the players. It almost seems as if winning the A10 was the crown jewel for the program when it seemed they had so much more potential.

Any thoughts True Point?

I don't agree with that this time. There wasn't much stalling until it was maybe up 6 with 2 1/2 minutes left. Hit your free throws and nothing else matters. Hit them and they win something like 70-62.

Yes EC is a liability....let Jeff take the shots....Dan's loyalty might have to take a back seat if this team is going to do anything next week.

Yeah, I mean...I don't think they were like "we won the A10 regular season, nothing else to accomplish let's pack it in." But I do think they probably took their foot off the gas and lost focus. When things are humming, that can be a tough thing to get back once you lose it. Trying too hard at it can make you tight or make you press; being too loose can make you susceptible to things like Tuesday where you're not nearly sharp enough. That's why I think the week off could be good for them. If they had to play Monday I feel like they wouldn't be in a good place to do that.

I still believe in this team's talent and it will take one game where things click back in for them to a team that would be a threat to anyone in the country, but right now there is bad juju.

who can you rely on on this team?

Terrell---the hero ball player that gambles for a steel and gags on two front ends?
EC---the NBA prospect---they should keep a percentage of how many times he hits the rim on 3 pointers. he might do it 30% of the time.
Garrett---total of ZERO points in the last 4 games
Dowtin---best PG in ram history? are you f'n kidding me? he does nothing spectacular. he can't make a lousy 3 foot shot, but gets tons of credit because he throws 5 or 6 passes a game that someone makes a jumper on.
Fatts---is he under 10% yet on three pointers?
Stan---utility man yes...but he makes the same kind of bone head plays the KI was crucified for making last year.
Berry---who I swear has added 50 lbs since the start of the year. nice hedge out to mid court on rusty regal.

Disgusted!

Lots of reasons to be mad, but they've won games like this all year. They're obviously capable. To me, that almost makes it worse that they blew this one and the Bonnies game, but I don't think it makes it much more likely it would happen again.

It took much longer in the season for this team to get punched in the mouth than most teams. Nobody here really knows how they'll respond now, going into their most important games of the year. But it's kind of dumb to act like all of a sudden they're not capable. Of course they're capable. The question is are they in the right mind state to execute.

I refrained from pilling on after the St Joes game, because sometimes it's just not your day...but this is inexcusable.

This team is so Jekyll and Hyde right now that they could lose first round A10 and first round NCAA /NIT or win the A10 tourney and go to the Sweet 16...neither would shock me...maybe the sweet 16 would a bit.
