For me...Fatts with te blocked shot...maybe it's just because I'm not tall...but dang....that was so freekn cool. Guy has a smile on his face as it is, but after that...not sure you could keep his smile in the gym...

FYI, the ESPN replay has the entire celebration, trophy and net cutting included
my favorite moment was just seeing it happen

Re: A10 Regular Season Champs
That run to start off the 2nd half.....and then the celebration. Stan Robinson seems like a really great person. He was walking around the perimeter of the court during the celebration, looking for little kids to shake their hands and talk to them a little. He did this with several kids. I thought that was great. This is something these kids will always remember. I can still remember talking to and getting Art Stephenson's autograph when I was about 10 years old. Just watching our players after the game, it's obvious that we have a great bunch of kids on this team.

Hassan was the first four year senior. Lost a lot in the beginning, ultimately won a conference tournament and made the NCAAs.
Now, for the newer guys- Dowtin, Langevine, Fatts- winning is the new normal.

This may be a little off, but a special moment for me was watching TJ cutting the net. That guy worked his tail off as a player at URI. I’m glad he’s back and I think he has had some impact on some of these players. He and SR seem to be cut from the same cloth. Pure hustle with a nose for the ball.

I just watched the last 20 minutes of the replay on Watch ESPN which is everything that happened after the final buzzer. It was great. If you didn’t go to the game or only watched the original broadcast on the ESPN2 you should check it out. Magical.

I was wondering what was going through his mind at that time. Wasn't he a Baron recruit? Talk about worst to first.cRAM4finals wrote:This may be a little off, but a special moment for me was watching TJ cutting the net. That guy worked his tail off as a player at URI. Re: A10 Regular Season Champs
Totally agree and was saying that to people last night. He and EC had a nice moment embracing at midcourt during the celebration. Lots of shared history there to get to that moment last night.cRAM4finals wrote:This may be a little off, but a special moment for me was watching TJ cutting the net. Hope the person who usually uploads games is able to get all of that. Great stuff from ESPN.KevanBoyles wrote:I just watched the last 20 minutes of the replay on Watch ESPN which is everything that happened after the final buzzer. It was great. This is pretty damn hilarious - Stan gettin' all romantic with the A-10 trophy, and a late appearance from JT:

So many video clips, but they’re all so good.
The end of this one might be my favorite. You did that, Danny!

That's a good one. Looks like a very happy head coach.

Re: A10 Regular Season Champs
Not having ever seen a regular season title, I didn't know it was such a big deal. I think a lot of people didn't. Didn't know there was a trophy for it. haha. That's what happens when the NCAAT bid goes to the Conference Tournament winner, and not the regular season.

Then they left early because ezbuckets said there would be something after the game at the under 4 timeout. And honestly, even if there was no ceremony, why would you leave that game early? It was a Friday night and the least the team deserved was a standing ovation for winning the championship

Re: A10 Regular Season Champs
That was purely fantastic. Great job by Ryan Center staff and of course URI. I for one am glad Lincoln Almond was there. I remember back in 1998 in St Louis he came walking into the hotel after we beat Valpo and my drunken self kept saying to him "when do we get our building".
Because of him we have it and now after all this time we get moments like this!!!!

Have to give props to the marketing department and RC staff, that end of game celebration was top notch and though i bitch about the lack of a branding campaign the in-game experience has been dramatically improved over the last 2-3 years.

Yeah, kind of agree. I thought about doing one but I think it makes sense to see where we're at after the season and go from there.ATPTourFan wrote:I don't wanna mess with that banner until season is over.
