I doubt it would be too long of a wait if it is indeed a scheduling thing. As soon as the ink is dry, someone will announce it. Even if our guys don't "break" a ton of stuff, if the program on the other side is a big enough deal to be excited about it, they'll have someone that break scheduling scoops.

A schedule game(s) doesn’t seem “crazy” or making “fans pumped”. I think Bird is eluding to something bigger! I am hoping a big recruit/transfer or something with a long term impact (like a big deal with UA,maybe they sponsor a practice facility). URI Think Big!

While a home and home with the Zag's would be awesome...I don't see that is being news that would justify creating that much excitement in a tweet. Really, any scheduling wouldn't imo. My guess would have to be something more along the lines of contract, or program/facility upgrades. But who really knows! I'm just as excited and curious as everyone else!

Like everyone else, I don't know what this is in reference to and I don't want to speculate/get my hopes up. However, by (over)analyzing his tweets, I don't think that Birdman is alluding to scheduling. I think that saying "Get your friends and show up" is a sign that it's not a big home game, which people would show up to regardless, and saying "Hurley is a legend" would be a bit over-dramatic for a big home game being scheduled.

* Hurley will invite all URI fans over for Thanksgiving dinner.
* All future PC-URI games will be played at the Ryan Center.

When Thompson redshirts does that free up a scholarship for this year? I could see a transfer coming in like KI did and being eligible next year. Maybe a big name recruit from one of the schools under investigation.

If he winds up redshirting, that will not open up a scholarship. Redshirt players still count towards the scholarship limit. Also, to echo what others have said, Birdman does have a track record of being correct on Rhody-related news - so his limited social media audience is not a reason to doubt him when he says something about URI.

just to clarify the situation and not that I believe this is about a recruit, if it is legitimate at all , but we do have a scholarship open...when Amir Harris decommited it left us with an open slot

I'm hoping for a mobile 7 footer who can shoot, rebound and defend .... a 5 star who's rejecting a school involved in the Adidas scandal and wants nothing more than to cement hurley's legacy at URI.

It left us with an open spot in 18-19, not this year. School is also halfway thru first semester so there won't be any transfer until the semester break, presumably.
