Re: '18 CA SF Dana Tate (Offer)
If we get Tate I think he will definitely be better than those two. The staff loves him.
Plus it's hard to compare anyway, they are more of a 4 and 5 type, and Tate's more of a 3 being 6'7".......

Re: '18 CA SF Dana Tate (Offer)
247 has him as a 3 star - #170 Nationally
http://247sports.com/Player/Dana-Tate-46035577
Rivals has him as a 4 star
https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/ ... ate-182419
A lot of these sites still have him classified as a 2019 so I think some sites haven't ranked him yet to due to some confusion there.

So how does he compare to Akele then? Just trying to get a sense of where he would fit in.

Re: '18 CA SF Dana Tate (Offer)
New England prep rankings obviously aren't apples to apples comparisons due to stronger class then others but he is ranked 10 in New England. To put that in some context, Jarvis was 12 in his class and Terrell 8 in that same class. Usually the top 12-15 players in the New England prep ranks are high major impact type players. Like diallo who PC landed last year was top 100 nationally and number 9 in New England for reference. Again not apples and apples but you get the point.

Re: '18 CA SF Dana Tate (Offer)
I wonder if Tate would still be a 4 star if Rivals classified him correctly as a 2018 recruit?

Re: '18 CA SF Dana Tate (Offer)
Expressions Elite finished the 4 Site EYBL Season with an impressive 11-5 record as 4 games were played at each site.
But in the National EYBL Peach Jam in July they went a disappointing 1-4.
- Lost to eventual champion Oakland Soldiers 72-51
- Beat California Supreme 72-65
- Lost to Bradley Beal 84-59
- Lost to PSA Cardinals 66-49
- Lost to CIA Bounce 72-70
The 2 SF's from 2018 that URI is recruiting from Expressions Elite had the following statistics in those 5 games:
Gebrewhit-
11-41 FG, 5-22 on 3FG, 10-16 FT, 20 rebounds, 11 assists, 5 steals, 5 TOs and 37 points
Tate
15-36 FG, 3-14 on 3FG, 7-9 FT, 24 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 steals, 11 TOs and 42 points

Hearing he might not have made a decision yet, but I think it's most likely us or UMass.

reef, "juicy" might be a slight understatement if that happens.reef wrote:Imagine if he announced UMass on Saturday ?? This board would get juicy
Fukishima type meltdown perhaps?
There are lies, damned lies, and Keaney Blue lies........just let Saturday get here...and soon.
When kids set these announcements, they usually know where they're going by then. Some like drama more than others.

Re: '18 CA SF Dana Tate (Offer)
I'd love to get Tate and feel pretty good about it. Anyone that "melts down" if he goes somewhere else is a joke. There are like 1500 kids in the '18 class. We will get our fair share.
