Re: 2016-17 Bracketology
It seems like most bracketologists are consistently giving VCU a better seed than URI, despite similar resumès.
URI and VCU both have 3 top 50 wins, and 9 top 100 wins.
VCU is 9-5 vs RPI top 100, as opposed to URI being 9-7 vs top 100.
BUT: URI has beaten VCU TWICE within the last 10 days. Does that compensate for two extra top 100 losses?
The Fordham and La Salle losses seem to be holding us back here :/
BUT no complaints from me. Can't wait to hear our name called, regardless of seed!

Re: 2016-17 Bracketology
Not that it makes a difference, but didn't VCU also lose to Fordham? And lost twice to us? Name recognition. Think Dayton got a shitty draw too. #7 was about right, but pitting them against another mid major who is a powerhouse and should have been higher than 10? Automatically have one solid mid major out in 1st round. It would be much better to see all mid against these P 5 13 loss teams, that are supposedly so much better.

Not complaining...very happy
Just asking, 11 seed?
Were we out completely with a loss?

Would've still had the at-large in a play in game. Committee members confirmed this as well. The rest of this tweet was simply an added bonus.

Rudder, 2 12 seeds are the last two at-larges. See posts above showing that Rhody was in no matter what yesterday.

Ironically Syracuse will be playing UNC Greensboro, the same city that just last week, Jim Boeheim claimed the ACC Tournament should never be played in. Revenge factor?Seawrightspostgame wrote:What site did Syracuse end up at? Where are the Orange?

GOOD. I'm tired of hearing about these illinois state or murray state teams that have SOS in the 200's but 26+ wins. Go beat someone.ramster wrote:Illinois State HC Looking for Home and Home on twitter with:

Blue Man, isn't that the same thing a Syracuse fan would tell us? I feel bad for those guys because it's not easy for them to get those games in the first place. But I'm not worrying about them; we're in!!!

Re: 2016-17 Bracketology
Yes that's the problem for teams like Illinois State nobody wants to give them a home and home
They should just go on the road and play a couple decent teams to help their RPI

Re: 2016-17 Bracketology
I don't think a Syracuse fan would say anything about scheduling lol. They had a significantly worse OOC sos than Ill state.UCH21377 wrote:Blue Man, isn't that the same thing a Syracuse fan would tell us? I mean I guess I should feel bad, but I think I'm still pissed that people had them in ahead of us this weekend.

Cuse got what they deserved
If they ever put a team that had a 2-11 road record in the dance it would have been a travesty

I'd be good with a URI home and home with them if their RPI held up. I'd love to see is renew with Xavier too.

Re: 2016-17 Bracketology
Good news Stevie.
He probably remembers but when we went to the 2015 Cancun Classic the teams in the top division were URI, TCU, Maryland and Illinois State
We beat TCU in the 1st game and Maryland beat Illinois State in their first game. We played Maryland for the Championship.
We were good then but better now.

Illinois State may be realistic. Xavier however will likely never do a H&H with URI. They won't even play local long time rival Dayton anymore (the irony of which is that Dayton was the dominant program for decades and always continued to play them). They now think they are too good for their former A-10 partners. They also already visit the state once a year to play PC. You will not see them in Kingston.

I can't get upset with X. Their hatred for Dayton is probably a factor in keeping the latter in the A10.

I am Sure DH looks at the teams that are going to be decent when he schedules
Our OOC schedule was a huge reason that put us on the bubble in case we didn't win the a 10 tourney

Didn't Duquesne actually pretty much help get both Dayton and Xavier into the A10 back in like 93?RF1 wrote:steviep123 wrote:
