Hope things go well! All the best with your recovery Rod!
Think I saw him at the Roger Williams Zoo a few days ago, but he was walking away from an exhibit before I had a chance to say hello.

Re: Rod is in the hospital
I know this is just my sick sense of humor, but since I've heard the news that Rod was having a heart issue, all I could think of was this scene from Jerry McGuire:
Again, I hope he gets well soon and if he happens to tell a nurse that he's all heart, well so be it

Happy to say that my son underwent successful surgery this morning. Wasn't a major thing, but anytime you put a toddler under it's a little scary.
Anyways, hoping Rhody nation goes 2 for 2 today.

Lets GOOOO!! From his daughter:
"Rod just got out of surgery! I just spoke with Dr. Slaiby who said the surgery went well and they did not need to add a renal artery stent once the iliac aneurysm was excluded with the stent graft.
Thank you for all your prayers. Hoping for a smooth recovery."
Rhody + KB fams go 3-0 in the last 18 hours!
KEEP IT UP ROD! WE'RE ONTO DAYTON!

Glad to hear it went well. Parents feel so helpless when our children have physical issues.
Hope the recovery goes well.

Really glad to hear about Rod. And thanks to everyone's warm wishes for my son. He will be fine. Nowhere near the ordeal Rod and his family are dealing with. I look forward to hearing more positive updates, up until the time that he is able to come here and deliver them himself.

TP, you probably feel a little weird bringing it up in Rod's 'get well' thread, but its relevant and no small thing! There is nothing more significant than feeling helpless for someone who you love so completely and whom can not fully understand what is happening to them. The sense of vulnerability can be overwhelming. I'm extremely grateful that you and your little guy are doing well!
Go Rhody!!!

"ROD, ROD, ROD, ROD!"
that's me cheering for Rodman from section 305. I honestly feel a huge sense of relief reading that the surgery went well, been thinking about you with great regularity since Blue was kind enough to pass the message to us. Of all the people I've met without meeting (or met via digital wired or wireless text communication) Rod, you are the best! It's a little strange for someone like myself raised to adulthood without the internet, but Rod is my friend even if we never shook hands.
Rod used to blast me back in the projo board days for various things (mostly for defending you know who). I loved it as much as when we agree!! Rod's knowledge of Rhody hoops is second to none! His strength in his convictions is admirable and his dedication to family, including the furry members is also something to admire. I wouldn't mind a bit if more people in this world were like Rodney Carri from Cranston.

Re: Rod is in the hospital
Thanks RR. Yes, our situation was not terribly serious, but for first time parents putting our kid under was pretty scary. I didn't want to divert attention from what Rod and his family are going through, just wanted to pass along positive vibes. Really appreciate everyone's kind words.Running Ram wrote:TP, you probably feel a little weird bringing it up in Rod's 'get well' thread, but its relevant and no small thing! Re: Rod is in the hospital
Yes, well said RR, I agree totally with you and also feel the same way. I have been following these Rams for a long time and I recall Rod calling local sports shows, going all the way back to Chris Clarke , and defending his Rams. At that time, it seemed as if he were the only vocal defender of the Rams on those shows. Prayers and best wishes to Rod and his family. Now the Rams can deliver the A 10 championship and finally go dancing again.

Re: Rod is in the hospital
According to his daughter he sounded like himself for the first time this morning so that's a good thing. As far as I know they are planning to stream the game so he should be able to watch.
Hopefully we play like we did the last 2 games so it doesn't give him any post-surgery complications!
EDIT:
Hospital does get ESPN2. This could also be bad for his heart because i have a feeling the announcers are gonna suckkkkk.

Re: Rod is in the hospital
Rod's daughter posted that Rod is doing well. His blood work is all good and he's up moving around, even climbing stairs.
She said he seems to be his old self again (if that 's good, lol). He's looking forward to coming home and resting.
Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing him on this board real soon. He is really missed.

Re: Rod is in the hospital
Per Rod's daughter: He's still in the hospital. Seems to be an issue with his high blood pressure. Doctors want to monitor it and get it down before releasing him. There's some concern about this.
