Chrabascz
I know it is only one game but based on what I saw today against the Criars he would not start for us if EC was healthy. He has a big body but is not athletic at all and too slow. After going 0 for 4 (none of them was close) he is now shooting 26% for this year on his 3s and the defense he will be playing against will only get tougher in the new BE.

Re: Chrabascz
I suggest you watch more than one game before you write such a completely incorrect comment. I watch pretty much every butler game and his skills as a big man basketball player are something we haven't seen from any big man at uri for a solid 15 years. He is exactly what this team needs not to mention he would be our second best free throw shooter. We have big men who can't play offense (this year is a little better) and he has averaged double figures for three years. Yea we don't want an all big east freshman who had 20+ points against notre dame in the game to make the elite 8. The basketball knowledge here seems to be in a pretty rapid nosedive with these injuries piling up. It's becoming embarrassing. We have people suggesting benching four mcglynn the day before he scores 33 and suggesting the only point guard we have shouldn't be playing. Im sorry, the lack of basketball knowledge is unreal. On a happier note though I do suggest watching butler if you like good basketball. A couple great shooters in Moore and the nc state transfer and for all of us YMCA old man game types Roosevelt jones is great to watch.

Re: Chrabascz
I'd take him in a here in a heart tbeat. He's a PF, so what the hell
does that have to do with EC?
PFs aren't supposed to shoot 3s, so who cares what his percentage is?
The kid has gotten great reviews for his play at Butler.
He's a true blue collar player.
Ridiculous.
This board is going off the deep end, fast.
Solid win by PC today over 9th ranked Butler.

Re: Chrabascz
I actually looked up some stats just to prove how crazy this is
His field goal percentage is 58% averaging almost 13 points a game
His free throw percentage is 76%...that's 6% below our best free throw shooter and 30% (yes 30%) better than our SECOND BEST free throw shooter which is actually sickening if I wasn't laughing about it
Plus he is a smart high energy player
But yea he shoots 30% from three so if he tried to play ec's position, which he doesn't, he probably wouldn't start lol bananaland
I need another drink

I might have done that math wrong but it's New Years..22% better than our second best free throw shooter. Forgot to carry the seven or something but you get it.

Dear god stop, Dan wanted him and he would be by far our best interior player. Just stop. He's a 6'9" PF why are you citing his three point shooting.

Wish we were on that Portsmouth pipeline. But it's not too late, there are two more good division 1 prospects out there, one at PHS and one at St. Andrews.

I thought EC was a guard?
HE WAS A PF ALL THIS TIME!!
TURNS OUT HE HAS EXCEPTIONAL DRIBBLING SKILLS FOR A PF!!!
pointing out the struggles of Jarvis or Four doesn't mean people on this board are unknowledgeable. It means they have been watching the games.
Yes Four scored 33. Hope he does it again. It was Brown. Brown University. 4-8 Brown.
He has also not been much of a factor in key losses. URI is an 8-5 team with 3 losses coming by 3 or less points. 3 points doesn't have to be made up with laser shooting, which we've seen from him?? in 2 games?? maybe a few more. Its basically a possession. That possession can be made up with better defense/rebounding(he gets abused).

Re: Chrabascz
4M has been a factor by his mere presence in all of our games. Every opponent guards him no matter how far out he is with the ball. He opens the interior. The problem is we have no interior players left, and JG and JT are having mediocre sophomore years - much less than expected. DH has not built an offense to feature 4M. In desperate situations, 4M must force too many shots. You have to watch the game to see what is happening.

I don't think Andrew is 6-9. Probably 6-7. He never considered URI. ("You get to play before 3,700 fans at home") He's a fine player. Butler is a great fit for him. It's a great atmosphere.
Brad Stevens recruited him at first, and the kid has handled that adjustment of a different head coach.
He had the added bonus of going from the A-10 to the Big East. Basing an opinion on one game? I might have dismissed Kris Dunn for an off game or two a couple of years ago. Could have done the same with Lamar Odom, too.

In reply to Rhody72, not sure what is meant by that last line but in terms of Four he is not someone you build the offense around. He is a specialist that can be very effective if used properly, he is too easy to stop to run the offense through him.

Just a couple of times(or once)while on my back nine, can I see a serviceable big man that gives some off the bench, quality minutes, has some low post footwork, drop step, strong to the hoop, defends post, get a few boards, makes some free throws...in Keaney Blue?....is that really asking to much?....

To clarify--if EC were healthy he would start with Hass, JT, JG and KI. My point was that I don't think he would crack that starting line up. Because of Dan's penchant for defense Chrabascz would be on the bench to start games.
I never said he was a guard and know full well he is a 4 or maybe a 5.

Apparently you didn't watch Butler (and Chrabascz) defend against Purdue's twin Towers of AJ Hammons and Isaac Has. It was pretty impressive how hard he plays, his positioning and smarts. Outstanding defender from the games I've watched which apparently is more than you.
You don't have to block shots to be a good defender.

Soooo he starts on a team that is in the top 10. But wouldn't start on a middle of the pack A10 team? Bananaland. He would have been our starting center from day one. Kid, you can start for Butler. But you'd never cut it at URI. Thing is, a kid from RI is starting for a Top 10 team. Doesn't happen very often.
Give him two weeks and McHale could start for URI now.

Eli did he steal your state championship in high school or something?
He's been in a slump for the last month and probably the reason butler has fallen off a bit. He is also playing more of a complimentary role to kelan Martin now who is an NBA player.
I think you have seen him play 3 games. He's been there three years and there is more than enough tape to show you have no idea what you are talking about. Go put your jordan hare jersey back on and tell us how good our big men are.

If you look up Matador Defense in the dictionary Andrew's picture will be right there. He is big but way too slow. I just don't see how Hurley would play him in our almost exclusive man to man.

You're judging a player in the first slump he's had in 3 years.
Look up his game by game log the last three years and tell me how he would not possibly play here.
In other news Rutgers fires eddie Jordan and says Hurley top on their list.

This thread is ridiculous. The kid averages 30 minutes and 10 points per game for Butler. He's clearly a major and valuable contributor for them or his coach wouldn't play him. If he can do that for Butler, he can do that for 90% of the programs in this country...including the one in little Kingston, RI.

Butler just won the Las Vegas tourney last night beating a super talented and BIG #8 Arizona team in the championship. Andrew was named MVP of the whole tournament. Hopefully this guy has just given up on "scouting" basketball at this point and is deep on his "I was wrong I know nothing about basketball" post that should have started right after the NCAA tourney last year.

But how many assists did he have? He would be our 8th or 9th man, might even be a redshirt candidate this year for us.
