Yeah agreed. Knee, fatigue, general soreness...whatever you wanna call it. Guy gave it all every single night and it shows right now. Best part is he is still better than half the guys out there.

I'm not seeing the same thing Martin has been a beast tonight. 3 or 4 ferocious dunks and that 2 handed put back just a second ago

It's not that he's not dunking, but it's explosiveness of it. The follow-up dunk was pretty sweet.

Fair enough, I don't get to see a ton of games. To me he looks much more explosive than he did against dayton

A nice collective half time boo for the refs. man they sucked tonight. We would have been up by 30 and won by 40 if it weren't for those clowns. Hope everyone heard me hall that sob an asshole on national tv.

great offense , got crazy at times , 3 point game in these past couple of games is getting really good and lethal. Our free throws have been up to par. Foul trouble will hurt us when playing a better team like Colorado. We should've kept this opponent under 65 points which gets me nervous. Hurley needs to stop getting a technical. Will be interesting to see who wins this Stanford UC davis game. Hoping they'll be much more people for the next home game if we have one !

Man, we're doing well when our 2 best post players have been fighting injuries, and our best scorer [EC] too. When you think of it, it's amazing we were as close as we were to dancing.

Hopefully there is more rest for them before our next game. If we have to play out west on Friday, that's not good.

You can see they were struggling in the 2nd half, especially with only 2 days rest.

The bench stepped up tonight. They like that uptempo stuff.

Iona has 2 really good players. Beyond them, not that much.

Obie, how Iona has a top 50 RPI is a mystery wrapped in an enigma. They didn't play anybody except Arkansas. I guess their W-L record was the reason?

Their computer numbers make no sense. How can you be 50 without a win higher than 140??

No MAAC team belongs in the top 50. 5 on 8 and we still blew them out.

That was the best 13 point 25 point win I've seen in a long time. What was up with those refs in the second part of both halves? We had the same conversation tonight about Hassan not having the extra couple of inches on his lift tonight, but he still played well, and where has Biggie been? Garett was great tonight.

Thinking the same thing. Not 1 top 100 win. I can't figure it out. If you compare Rhody to Iona, you will scratch your head why we are in the 60's and they are in the 50's.

People in the A10 office have got to get their heads together, and do something about the officiating.

I know it's bad everywhere, but I guess it's the degree of bad that's the issue.

Dan has a beef, as do most all coaches. It's bad both ways.

Sometimes I wonder if we're on the road when we play at home.

Never seen a home team get the shaft as often as we do.

The NCAA has to bring in and train more refs, and hold them to a higher standard than they are now. Maybe there's just too many games and too many teams, and not enough guys who will care enough about their craft no matter how much they are being paid.

We win very effectively tonight but then it always seems that we need to say the opponent just wasn't as good as they were made out to be - I don't get it.

Rhody played great tonight, got a key win and maybe it was US that made Iona look less then their normal selves.

On to the next game.

Great win tonight, great team effort.

Very entertaining game.. Up and down action.. Much more enjoyable than some of these games in the 50's Liked the 30 second clock. Not that Iona needed much of it.. Would love to see us get the depth we need to push the ball like we did tonight.. Glad to see Earl get more minutes.. Nothing against Gil, but we need to see what Earl brings to the table for next year.. Refs brutal, but I think DH's reputation is growing quickly and not in a good way.. These guys have rabbit ears and are on him quickly every game.. He toned it down 2nd half and officiating was a little more palatable. TJ chuckling on postgame about us fans reaction at end of first half toward the zebras. Great game by Garrett tonight.. 10 assists and attacked the rim.. He is going to be a good one...

We did play well tonight, other than missing a bunch of layups in the second half. That and the refs, we should have won by 25. That's OK though, a win is a win.

Iona's not a bad team, just not a good matchup against us with our D.

Regarding Hassan. I got there early like I always do when the team was out getting loose. Hassan went back to the locker room while the rest of the team was on the court. When he came back out, he was talking to Luke and both of them were looking down at his right knee. So, his "general soreness", or whatever they call it, is related to that knee that's been bothering him for a while, in my opinion. Even with that, he gets 11 rebounds and 6 blocks. Anyway, how's a line of 10 points, 10 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 steal and 1(!!) turnover from a freshman point guard? When he breaks out of the pack and is running the break in the middle of the floor, he is so much fun to watch. And Biggie played his best game as a Ram...13 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and zero (!!!) turnovers. Earl with 11 rebounds in 15 minutes. Jared and EC looked like the players we hope they are becoming. Even Butler made a nice contribution tonight. And TJ, hustling, diving on the floor. Hopefully, we don't take him for granted. He plays so damn hard every time he's on the floor. Hopefully, he gets at least one more game at the RC. Great night, lots of fun.

That's ridiculous. They have zero defense and there record of beating st peter paul and mary don't add up to really anything. They were exposed by an A10 team as many teams are. They beat no one really except in conference. I think their RPI numbers make no sense. Hell, they lost to George Mason this year. As was stated, their numbers are an enigma and the puzzle was solved.

Back from the game and hanging around the RC afterwards.
This was a fun game to watch.
Non stop action from beginning to end.
Both teams shot poorly, but shot plenty, so the score was high.
Hats off to Jarvis Garrett on his first URI double-double.
He was great on both ends of the floor.
Gil started out 4 points, 4 rebounds in 5 minutes, got the
technical and vanished.
Hassan was great on the defensive end, 6 blocks and 11 rebounds,
but a very uncharacteristic 3-10 from the floor. He flubbed some shots he usually
make with ease.
Terrell was terrific. When he's rolling like tonight, you get a real idea
of the kind of player he will become.
Biggie played very well, and filled the stat sheet.
TJ was good, but again, fouls hurt him.
He got two nice ovations leaving the game twice near the end.
There was a Butler sighting. He got 4 points, but gave away a basket
to AJ English near the end of the half.
Watson was a bear on the boards, Best game he's had since January.
I'm not sure why some here seem to be knocking a team we just beat.
Isaiah Williams played 24 minutes and didn't score, clearly hurting.
He's one of their best players.
English could have scored 40 plus if his shot was dropping, and
I'd love to clone Laury for our team. 28 points and 17 rebounds
3-5 from 3, and some great post moves.
Casmir was held to 4 points, which is 11 under his average.
A good night and win #23!
Ran into Coach LaForce and her mother, after the game.
Just very nice and charming people.
Asked Andrea Hurley is she was going to Palo Alto.
She said she heard Stanford may be coming here.
Hope she's right. That would be great.
Seems a lot of confusion as to when the next game would take place.
Hot rumor around is that Oneykaba will be the one transferring.
Makes sense, given his circumstances.

Rod it definitely seems to make sense to me at this point that Stanford might be coming here to play. The fact that they aren't announcing where the next game would be is kind of strange. You'd think they would know by now whether or not the Stanford arena would be available, so the silence on the matter makes me think they are just waiting to see if they win.

I don't know if that makes sense, though, because if they weren't going to play at Stanford wouldn't the game be played in Kingston regardless?

Yeah it would be, for sure. But I don't think they want to say anything until the other game is over. I guess the thing that just confuses me is how could Stanford not know yet if their arena is going to be able to host the game?

The only way I could see it working in Stanford is if it's Monday I think.

Well there not gonna announce anything until they win, but it could happen if it's occupied, Alabama 6th seed faced 3 seed Illinois at home so it could happen

Their RPI is a computer calculation. Seems like after a win like this we could rejoice and not say the team we beat was not as good as people or RPIs said they were. Just takes away from the credibility of our win.

From csncalifornian:

Many in attendance wore the blue and gold of the Aggies. No one in attendance sat in any of the upper sections, which were roped off to all. With Finals Week in full swing on campus, a sparse Sixth Man Club offered the best support that it could, but were often drowned out by the UC Davis fans and band.

With the win, Stanford faces No. 3-seed Rhode Island (23-9, 13-5 Atlantic-10; RPI #66) in the NIT’s second. Earlier on Tuesday night, the Rams knocked off No. 6-seed Iona, 88-75. The site, time, and date are to be announced on Wednesday.

I agree. This was directed at the ref with the slicked back hair. I was at the GW game in BKN, and he was noticeably terrible. He's the one who tech'd Dan in that game.

With such poor attendance in their first game, one would think Stanford might not go to huge lengths to host this game given the scheduling difficulties it faces. The numbers last night are even worse when you factor in that UC-Davis fans made up a good portion.

Even if the NCAA Women's regional games are Sat/Mon, the court must be available to the participating teams for practice before games. There are four teams in the pod. The game times ate 1pm and 3:30pm (pacific time). The four teams would need to practice the day before. When other schools have been involved with the NCAA Tournment, most have not hosted NIT games.

Stanford's only option to host may be to play at another venue and pay rent. That may be hard to justify given the number of paying customers.
