I love Dan's self-deprecating humor. It's right up my alley...
Danny’s NBA dreams died much sooner.

“I think it was my first Big East game at Seton Hall,” he said, laughing. “We played Georgetown. The first time I went in the lane, Alonzo Mourning put my shot into the third or fourth tier. Then again, I did hold [Allen Iverson] to 39. It occurred to me that night that I should start thinking about coaching when I got out of college.”

Dan goes from defending against Iverson......to coaching an Iverson.....let's hope he does better with this Iverson....

The only thing I don't get about this quote is that Iverson and Mourning weren't at GTown at the same time. Dan would have played against both in his time at SH, but the article makes it sound like he is describing one specific night. Still a great anecdote, just was confused about the way it was written.

Anyway, great to get more pub from a guy like Rothstein who is a national brand. That stuff is going to become more and more common as Rhody and Buffalo continue to emerge.

Dan got that story from Brian Williams,
who was telling Dan about seeing his game at
Seton Hall.

Artistic license, I guess. They're also 42 and 43, and Danny was a sophomore when Bobby was a senior. But that's just me being picky. Regardless, I think it's better mentally, since they're so involved in what the other is doing, that they have their own teams and can talk as head coaches, rather than being on the same staff. Those three years together were really nice, though.

Thank goodness Dan had Bobby here in Kingston for Year 1. Dan didn't look "well" back then during the season.

It was fun having the brothers on the Rhody bench for that first year. Good for Bobby that he's building his own coaching career now in parallel.

I wonder if he also told him how he was attacked by terrorists after the game.

I like the one where they're having a shooting contest,
and Dan's shot goes over Newport and he gets it in the basket.
I liked Bobby and his quirky sense of humor.
