Huge props to Jared for hitting those FTs but...

In the last two games, URI is 0-2...Hassan and TJ are 2-0. End of story.

Yep good call 105. Mason sees the floor man good player!

That will be a teaching point on the game tape....

How clutch was Terrell with those Free Throws? Enormously clutch. Although, if I recall correctly (feel free to correct me if I have the wrong guy) I believe it was him overcommitting on defense that led to Mason's floater that put the Dukes ahead, so I guess you could call it a wash.
What a finish! Rhody really struggles against a zone. If VCU plays us in a zone, we are screwed.

We win on clutch JT free throws and a wide open missed shot. Ugly, but I'll take it.

This team never gives up! What a difference from the Baron years. Those teams always found a way to lose in crunch time, while the current team is the polar opposite. A win is a win baby!

Credit Jarvis for starting the run that helped get Rhody out of the hole. Kid showed up in the second half.
EC...well......was EC. What a player!...oh, but hit those free throws please! haha.

Has to be different vs. VCU. 2 bad games in a row against 2 bad teams. Getting behind will catch up to us sooner or later. Maybe a tweak in the starting lineup to start fast?

much better execution in 2nd half...Jarvis stepped up big time. 42 points in second half. Less settling for 3 pt chucks.

Hassan is turning into a man. Averaging 16 pts and 10 rebs in A10 games.

Our young back court really has to work on their zone attack. More dribble penetration and paint touches in second half, have to bring that attack from opening tip.

Dan Complimentary on TJ.
Talking about how tough the league is.
He says it has been a long time since there has been a big game against another A10 team at our own home court. He specifically mentioned providence and Nebraska as big games but not A10 opponent big games.
Now EC on the A10 network post game interview.
EC very good with the two commentators. Well spoken, nice smile, really represents himself, the team and his school very well.

MASSIVE win. These are the games we can't afford to lose. Road games vs middle of the pack teams.

The turning point was the Hurley tech.

POSITIVES:

- Team defense (save a missed rotation on that late floater) was tremendous down the stretch. The Dukes didn't have many good looks at the end of the game.
- 2 HUUUUUGE FT's by JT. The freshman comes up big.
- E.C. was the best player on the floor and played like it in the 2nd half.
- TJ is the man. Great leadership and toughness. He plays hard, picks guys up but also makes plays. Very nice drive and dish to Hass for a dunk when we needed a bucket.
- 3-0 in conference play going into a game against a ranked opponent at home. The Ryan better be jumping for that game.

NEGATIVES:

- Yet another sloooooow start. What is the story there? If we weren't making 3's like the Fordham game, we might have had 15 points at the half.
- What the hell is going on with Gil?
- Minnis regressing after a few good games, but Jarvis played very well today.
- This team is very stressful to watch.

Interesting to hear Tim (one of the announcers) say how he doesn't think Martin or Mathews are going to leave URI in the next couple of years. He seems to think both will be at URI all four years.
I happen to agree. I know Mathews is getting the NBA hype, but I see him staying the full four.

Martin 16 pts on offensive rebounds and dunks. Got to find a way to get him touches. He finishes so strong around basket and I think given opportunity and confidence can hit 15 footer on consistent basis

Okay, I have finally stopped shaking after that gut wrenching last 4 minutes. I thought this one was lost for sure. Wow, they toughed out their third dogfight in a row. They are officially mentally tough. Still cant' believe they won it. These games have to help going forward when they play the close ones, but please take better care of the ball and stop giving away the first ten minutes of every game. Can't do that against VCU and Dayton.

We have to get more touches down low. If Gil isn't committed this year, fine get Earl in there for crying out loud. Earl and Martin need a touch on every offensive unless we have a fast break. Martin again played superb and finished in the paint. Gil got sat again for poor defense and lazy fouls. Earl time needs to happen!

I heard him say that as well at the end of the broadcast. I thought I heard him to say he was watching from Ruston Louisiana?
He mentioned his having played at South Lakes High School in Virginia and that he played for URI from 2001 to 2004 - they must be buddies.

4 points and 1 rebound?? I think that's an easy question to answer. He needs to step up and start playing like a senior. Period. Or else Watson should be eating up more and more of his minutes every game.
