Game #14: @ Duquesne - Saturday @ 1pm

After narrowly defeating Fordham this week in the Ryan Center despite some of their best efforts to blow the game, Rhody travels to Pittsburgh this weekend to face the Dukes of Duquesne University at the Palumbo Center in a 1pm tip Saturday afternoon (BEFORE PATRIOTS - RAVENS)

Saturday's game at Duquesne will air live locally on Cox OSN (Cox ch. 5 / 1005 HD) and in Connecticut (Cox ch. 128 / 1128 HD).

The game will be available live at 1 p.m ET to approximately 44 million homes, in 34 states on 57 channels. Some of America's largest media markets will carry the game, including New York (SNY), Chicago (Comcast Sports Net), Philadelphia (TCN), San Francisco (Comcast Sports Net), Washington DC (MASN).

Rhody/Duquesne will also air in the following A-10 markets: markets within the A-10 footprint including: Baltimore, Norfolk, Richmond, Charlotte, Raleigh and Greensboro (MASN), St. Louis (KDNL), Cleveland (Cox Sports), Cincinnati (WSTR), Columbus (WSYX), Buffalo (WYNO), Dayton (WRGT).'

Rhody is 10-3 (2-0 A10) and Duquesne is now 6-7 (1-1 A10) after turning back the Hawks of St Josephs this week at home.

KenPom gives Rhody a 78% chance of winning the game and suggests a 74-66 final score.

Duquesne's defensive efficiency is 321st in D1 compared to Rhody's at 31st best. Both teams are similarly ranked in offensive efficiency. Advantage Rams!

The Dukes are also horrible at free throws @ 62.4% which is 322th in D1.

Its not showing up on the SNY channel guide yet, but hopefully its a mistake or gets updated shortly.

I've seen McKoy play a couple of times this year. He seems like a high energy guy. I found that odd. He seemed to be just the opposite when he was here, like he was playing in slow motion.

Somebody dropped the ball - the game is on in all over the country except in Massachusetts, which probably has as many Rhody grads as any state in the country.

For me its showing on SNY but tape delayed at 1pm PT/4pm ET. Luckily I am getting it live on a few other regional sports channels.

We have the most basic cable possible, so I'm 99% sure there's SNY for me. If it wasn't for the women in the house (Bravo and E!), I wouldn't even have cable... but that's another discussion.

I don't think the jinx thing is real, right? I just think that if Native doesn't get the game thread up 24 hours before the game then someone has to step in and do it. I'm as big a fan of Native's as there is but we can't go without a game thread if he doesn't do it.

Spead is Rhody by 7. Duquesne is bad. Fordham has young talent and I expected a tough game from them, but equally expect a blow out by the URI Rams over Duquesne which is easily the worst team in the A10 and not even any reason for future optimism. At least Fordham has some hope. URI by 22.

Ramster, I tend to agree with you about Duquesne, as long as Rhody plays with some fire this shouldn't be close. I'd say a win by 15.

Some of our players have probably got ass burns from Dan whipping them [not literally of course] the last couple of days.

I would expect a better all around effort tomorrow.

My concern about this game is on the Rams shooting woes. Last year we lost to these guys despite putting in 10 of 17 threes. Duquesne likes to take the three shot, and does fairly well at it. It was their guard, Gill, who came off the bench last year and put in 5 of 6 threes. Our defense is so much better than last year, so I have hopes that there will not be a repeat of that performance. If we have three point and FT shooting like we did against Fordham, we will lose.

Yes, it is the regional sports network package. I think it is $10 per month a la cart but I get every channel for a price I am embarrassed to admit! I get 18 shopping networks, though.

We got killed by their big man, last year, who I think
had a career high, as did Gill, for Duquesne.
The big guy isn't there anymore, so a main reason we lost,
doesn't exist.

URI has one 6 straight games on Duquesne's Home Court
Last time URI lost @ Duquesne was in 2001 with the team Coached by the legendary Jerry Degregorio

This has to be a blow out win.

SNY here in NJ has Towson-Northeastern at 2 and Rhody on tape delay at 4. What's the point??? A10 website for me.

I can't believe if we win this game it will be the first time since Harrick was here we start 3-0 in conference play. Mind boggling to say the least.

Seems like it would be the right time to blow them out. We just had a rough game against a bad team, Dan lit a fire under their ass. We have the best defense, and they have the worst defense, so it should work out well for us.

Ugh! When Gil's in, it looks like we never saw a zone.
Need TJ in the post, of it's the same pass the ball around the perimeter.
Hassan has not ONCE touched the ball.
Oh, and this colorman sucks! He's clearly excited for Duquesne.

Again and Again, game after game, we need to get kicked in the teeth before we start playing, very unsettling. So far all perimeter shots against a team where Gil and Has should dominate. We need to attack the zone with dribble penetration and not settle for jumpers. Lets GO !!!!!
