I don't really care what system we use. I just didn't fully understand the one we are using, but I think I get it now. I'm open to any system but don't think we should change it mid-stream this year. The budget thing sounds interesting; it will force you to think ahead before placing claims.

I mean I played Mike Floyd and his zero bomb. That's like putting Garrapolo in for the 4th quarter right?

We will see. Lots of football left. I was in last place not that long ago. SG's team and a couple others are also really good.

TP, I'm thinking about it. Intriguing, I'm not sure I'll be doing the league any favors, but you gotta move one of those guys now and the offer makes sense.

Yeah I mean it would be crazy for Brady to win the real life MVP and be relegated to the bench in a 12 team league. Someone can surely use him. I am only looking for a (borderline) WR2 in return. Nobody wants poor Tommy Brady???

Yeah, its a fair trade offer most def, I'm happy to have Tommy Touchdown. I think LaFell will be there as a solid WR2/low end WR1 the rest of the way.

Yeah he actually took mine, I'd sent them both to you guys at the same time. I couldn't have parted with Ingram anyways. Gonna need him. But your deal was a fair offer.

Re: Keaney Blue Fantasy Football League!!!
Do you guys think he's going to keep up this pace? I have a feeling he's going to slow down. Still QB1 for sure but not at the top. TP your offer to me was solid too but I think Tate is going to continue to play at a high WR2 level even when Megatron is back.

Re: Keaney Blue Fantasy Football League!!!
Glad to get TB from TP, who is definitely worth a good WR2, but I have to admit it was an easier decision to make because it involved Brady's WR target, theoretically if Brady falls off, so does LaFell, since their value is tied together I have little to lose, I think it was probably the trade offer that made the most sense.

Yeah same thought process for me, actually. You aren't totally selling off your asset, you're trading it for a derivative asset.

Re: Keaney Blue Fantasy Football League!!!
Before the game actually really starts - Can I get Jason Whitten moved to my active lineup? I had too much faith in Yahoo, and thought it would start him once automatically once it realized I was dropping my starter (Chandler) for him, but that was giving Yahoo too much credit apparently.

Re: Keaney Blue Fantasy Football League!!!
SG, sorry i missed that and although the game results wouldn't change, points are part of the seeding and tie-breaker formulas, there was no way to actually move Witten into your line-up, but I could add the points to your week 10 total. According to yahoo the points should show up within 24hrs. If anyone has an issue with the decision, we'll take a vote.

Thanks! Yeah, I wasn't aware that's how the waivers worked - In the past, at least with some other sports or leagues, when I dropped a player in my lineup for someone on the waiver wire, that player automatically started.Running Ram wrote:SG, sorry i missed that and although the game results wouldn't change, points are part of the seeding and tie-breaker formulas, there was no way to actually move Witten into your line-up, but I could add the points to your week 10 total. What do I win for scoring the most points? Some sort of cash prize or trophy made from rare metal that I can melt and sell, I assume?

By the way twisted you were coming on strong at the end of the year and would have been very tough in the playoffs.

Would have never guessed NO would lay down like that. Nothing for Graham or Ingram. That game knocked me out of my knockout pool too.

Re: Keaney Blue Fantasy Football League!!!
I have to admit my total confusion with the waiver process at this point. I haven't put in a claim in a couple weeks, so I went ahead and claimed Harry Douglas, as back up for Jones, thinking my claim would be high on the list, but he went elsewhere. Maybe I accidentally cancelled the claim, who knows, hopefully Julio is playing anyway.

Re: Keaney Blue Fantasy Football League!!!
again, I'll say I think the waiver system we used this year is beat! It isn't fair to the teams that are in need and frequently use waiver claims, those teams will never get back to the top of the waiver priority.
If you start out unlucky and say a stud gets injured week one, win or lose your priority is based on the draft, from there on it continually rolls and if you don't wait several weeks to make another claim you stay low priority.
We should be using the 3rd option of rolling weekly reset based on standings.
The other common setting which is just based on standings without rolling is just as unfair for the very good teams as the one we currently use is for the bad teams (by record). That setting allows the bad teams with the high priority to remain high priority continually, so the team with the 1st waiver spot will get ALL of their claims before the team with the 2nd spot gets any and so on. That would be fine if the players went on waivers in a staggered infrequent way as they do in reality, but here in FFLand we are essential redrafting from a large pool each week, not carefully considering one player at a time

Is FAAB like you have a budget or something, and the highest bidder gets the free agent?

Re: Keaney Blue Fantasy Football League!!!
Yes. Most leagues start with a $100 budget at the beginning of the season, but I've seen the number as high as $250. Each team has 24 hours to place a blind claim, meaning that you're not aware of any other claims or the other bids being put in. The player is awarded to the highest bid, with season standings being used as a tiebreaker. Some leagues have a minimum bid of $1, so if you're out of money by week 10 or so, you may be in a bind.
Adds a lot of fun and suspense - our waivers cleared at 11 AM daily, Wed-Sun. No players added on Tues; gives everyone a day to digest info and make/edit bids. FAAB used for every player added. Always frustrating when you bid $10 for a player than no one else bids on, as you could have had him for as low as $1. Also allows for comedic overspending, which is always fun.

Re: Keaney Blue Fantasy Football League!!!
Well, that was a pretty good season for a free league, glad everyone was able to keep their interest up. If we can keep it rolling for next season I'll get us a trophy or perhaps a championship belt, the winner can wear it to a home game and we'll get buckets to present the winner at half court.
Also I'll state for the record, my team sucked, I had no right playing for the title, my best player was a free agent rookie who happened to go off week 14 and 15. But it still stings losing a chance at the belt.

it was a fun league
my highlight of fantasy came last night in my other league, pulled off a miracle coming back from down 43.4 points to win (I had Peyton, CJ Anderson and Jeremy Hill and he had Demaryius Thomas). I won it on the last run by Hill for 14 yards to win by 0.18 points
