Here I go again.....Dayton needs this game more than we do......to keep their slim at-large hopes alive.....we need to win the A-10 tournament..not win regular season games against foes who still have a chance for an at-large bid...

....it is better for the conference, and ultimately for us from a financial standpoint and a league stature standpoint....and will lead to better recruiting for us....

The major problem with this is that the marginal benefit of having one extra team (maybe) get in the dance because they avoided one loss against URI (dubious math) is far outweighed by the benefit to Rhody winning a road game. It's a specious argument. You really need to thread the needle. First, dayton needs to be about one of the last four teams in the discussion for a bid. Right there, you are looking at a slim chance. Even if that happened, those four or five other bubble teams will have similar losses on their resume. It's why they are bubble teams.

If we win the A-10 tournament, you don't think the committee eliminates an A-10 bubble team first? So, what's the point of tanking regular season games to bubble teams if we win the A-10 tourney? End result would be the same.

Dan Hurley and his team would never tank a game. Any game. Screw the rest of the league if we beat any of them between now and NY.

He's paid to win games, not throw them.

Dayton is going down. A win means more for us. We have lost recruits to them before. A sweep of them will help. At least help us on this board not care who we lose to them, because they won't be able to beat us.

In NCAA there is no incentive to lose ANY game. We don't get draft picks from this. We have gotten many teams in the NCAA in the past and we still don't get there. Doesn't matter, it only matters in bars when other schools claim greatness because of conference affiliation. This isn't Atlanta and not the SEC. Win the GAME!

Finish strong!!! Get better seeding for the Barclays, hope one of the teams we don't want to face gets knocked out in the tourney before us and we then get on the tight rope and try to win the thing.

It's a stretch to make the argument, Ramulous. A BIG stretch, since you mention recruiting. What is Hurley going to say to a recruit, "Hey, we lost to Dayton last year and that helped them make the tournament!" I obviously agree (as do most URI fans) that more A10 teams in the tournament is a fantastic thing, and I will root for all of them once they get there, but I will NEVER root for URI to lose, or even admit that there is a silver lining to it.

Last time I tried to use that for VCU I ended up with all kinds of Advertising Trojans and still couldn't get the stream to work unfortunately. Even after I updated windows media player like it told me to it was still telling me i had to update.

Rhody Guy, maybe you were remembering another game that was on CBS Sports Network and you watched it on one of the pirate sites. The stream tonight is professional and part of the A10's Digital Media Rights package via CollegeInsiders.com.

There are no such trojans, etc or other risks when watching tonight's streams via the links posted in this thread.

RETRACTION/CORRECTION:

Game will NOT be on Cox tonight! Source in Athletics Dept confirmed that game isn't on Cox due to issues outside Cox's control (read: NOT Cox's Fault).

Some kind of clerical error (to be determined, Athletics is looking into it) is to blame. A10's own press release regarding SNY partnership says all SNY games would always be available on local syndication (Cox), as we have seen several times already this season (most recently the Fordham game).

We are 9-4 at home. The four losses are to [rpi]. PC[54], So. Miss[35], St. Louis[16], UMass[10].

On the road we have lost to -
SMU[40]
Arizona[2]
George Mason[168]
Detroit[190]
George Washington[32]
LaSalle[90]
St. Joseph[46]
Fordham[176]
VCU[29]

Other than G. Mason, Detroit, and Fordham, are there any other "bad losses"?

Isn't that more than enough? It pains me to think we could not even win one of those three games. Those were 3 of our best shots (along with at Brown) at true road wins for the entire season. We instead lost all three and somehow inexplicably win at LSU where we were big underdogs.

I don't have a good feeling about this game. Revenge game, expect all the calls to go the flyers way. I hope I'm wrong. But our guys got to be pretty down with the way Sunday night ended. If somehow we were to win this game, I think it would say a lot about this team.

Stream up. Remember, this streaming system allows you to PAUSE like on your home DVR. You can rewind as well.

If you joined the action late, you can rewind to start of game and watch on slight delay. Very cool.
