Rod, a good PG who can see the floor, and pass and shoot, would make our half court offense infinitely better.

But you know this. This team has no rudder. No compass. They're Lost in Space.

DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!! DANGER!!!!

Actually I prefer the Family Guy version of Star Wars.

Classic.

This is so much more fun talking about, than this mess tonight.

Wonder if Stewie and Brian can find us a PG from an alternate universe?

Word from my sources in South County is that Aaman was jumped by Brandon Austin and Rodney Bullock....and Hurley and Cooley are none too happy with the situation......

Scuse me if I didn't see the humor in our decimated lineup. Didn't realize it was a joke. Then again I'm running on close to zero quality sleep over the last couple weeks. Not to mention that this is the place rumors like that turn into reality...

Maybe when we start winning again I'll be able to laugh more...sorry chief.

I vote for redshirt, this year best case URI finishes 9th. I'd rather have the option of Mike for another year

Redshirt or not will probably be dictated by necessity at this point I would bet. Also, its not a guaranty it gets granted so if he's ready to go with 8-10 games left it might be worth rolling him out there.

Just play him. He's not like a Mike Brown, or Cuttino Mobley, who you'd want around for as
long as you could have them.
If Hurley can't get a better talent than Aaman by his fifth year here, we have a problem.

I want him to play this year as well as long as it makes sense for him medically. He does not project to be a star player in the next 3 years no need to keep him around that long and he could certainly help this year'a team

That doesn't mean he has to play his post-grad year here, but it gives him and the team options, IF he continues to mature on AND off the court we may be glad he redshirted, otherwise he goes to complete he final year elsewhere. URI isn't required to give him 5 years of scholarships for four years of play. That being said, my hope is he gets his shit together and contributes going forward, but as I've said in the past, I plan for an Aamanless future for this team because at this point I can't trust he will even be able to give us one complete season without letting off-court issues keep him from contributing.

Agreed Ace...Mike is a hard nose basketball player. A good role player, I don't get the negativity. It's not like we are landing big time recruits left and right.

The negativity is related to frustration with his poor judgement. He is desperately needed right now and can't play as a result of his actions. The need for his services is far higher now than it hopefully will be in his fifth year.

Aamen is a hard worker and a role player as you stated. Players like this however should not get a scholarship for FIVE years. I would not have an issue with URI paying for four years as that was the understanding when he was recruited. I do have a bit of an issue with a fifth year when that added year is related to an off court issue that URI had no involvement with.

I like the fact that Aaman works hard. However, I think he is highly over-rated by many on this board. Yes, we need depth down low this year, but for him to take a scholarship next year, instead of bringing in a guy we can develop for 4 years is a complete waste.

His fifth year is so far away....why are we worrying about it now? Even if he doesn't play this year, he isn't guaranteed a fifth year. He will only get a fifth year if he improves drastically or we fail to land a player we like in '15 or '16 to step into his role. Having said all that, it is crazy to hold him out for the purpose of saving his fifth year. If he can play he needs to play. It isn't fair to his teammates for an able-bodied person to be sitting on the bench hanging out when they are so undermanned.

Sorry. Didn't mean to imply that is what is happening. I was more just weighing in on the idea of holding a player out to preserve a fifth season in a general sense, using Mike's situation as an example. Poorly executed on my part.

This season is over after we lose at Barclay's. There is no urgency in Mike returning even if we are down to walk-ons. It is probably better for Mike's health that we doesn't return this season. Finally, let DH make a decision about Mike returning for a fifth year after year four. As long as URI is a place where fans beat down players when they are down, the longer URI will be a program that is going nowhere. DH no longer owes Mike a scholarship for year three after what he did this season. Let's not make decisions on what is best for the future success of the program until they have to be made. Also, maybe Mike knows he is gone after this season and doesn't want to waste a year of his eligibility now on a few more games and has a deal with URI similar to MikeP so the team doesn't get put on academic probation. There are a lot of balls in the air right now. MikeA doesn't need to return this season.
