"Difference In Diagne

When Moustapha Diagne began his career at Pope John XXIII (NJ), his defensive habits were fantastic and he ran the floor well. Offensively, however, he was raw. A few weeks later, things have changed.

The class of 2015 6-foot-9 power forward, by way of Senegal, did a tremendous job of finishing around the rim on a consistent basis. While he wasn't as physical on the boards as he was, his skills are developing and he is quickly beginning to become an elite big man.

College coaches are noticing, as well. After starting out with a scholarship from Cleveland State, Diagne now holds offers from Oregon State, Rhode Island, West Virginia, La Salle, George Mason, Rutgers and UConn, his head coach Jason Hasson told Rivals.com. As more coaches will likely offer following his performance Sunday, he is beginning to elevate himself into a highly coveted status, and plans on keeping it that way."

Moustapha Diagne – CBC – Diagne dominated the game every minute that he was in with his size, athleticism, and wide skill set. The 6’9” sophomore was very active both offensively and defensively, rebounded the ball in high volume, ran the floor well, and even showed the ability to push the ball in transition with the bounce off of the rebounds he secured. Diagne and teammate Sam Ibiezugbe form a very big and intimidating back line of the CBC defense that makes it extremely difficult for opposing teams to score at the rim. While CBC only got to play one game on the day due to a forfeit by one of the teams they were scheduled to play, they dominated and were the most impressive team to take the floor today. Hard to imagine that they couldn’t compete with, or possibly beat, any 16u team in the country.

Might as well be ..... a 4-star center. URI doesn't get involved with too many of those.

If we get two 4 star guards, the big guys will follow.

Based on his offers list, we're in with a lot of big-time programs here. Hopefully we haven't gotten in the running too late...

Good catch, BFC :)

Also good to know, certainly with high-major prospects the best way for us to have a shot is to get in early and build a real solid relationship.

He's only a junior, so he's likely not making any kind of commitment any time soon.
