During the aftergame press conference, Dan said he was sure Brendan was there to cheer on his brother.

Yeah, I think Brendan would have to be kind of neutral on this one.

I guess it was a game he couldn't lose. But anyway, Jaylen is a great guard and if Brendan is close in talent to Jaylen we are good for the future.

He's not, Brendan is listed at 6'3/6'4 and Jaylen is listed at 6'2.

Watched Dowtin (6’3) cover him Saturday and seemed to have a height advantage.
In the pics of Brendan and Jaylen together Brendan seemed taller.

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but here's a great profile of Brendan's recruitment.

I wonder why ppl on here who are Hurleyphiles didn't make a bigger deal of the recruiting angle that DH is the younger brother of a successful brother in the sport. And that could obviously be one of his top selling points. Him and Brendan have a bit in common.

The talk on here was basically, hey the kid is good. Brother is good. Hope we get him.

That is two SG spots removed from 4-star. #34 Greg Williams (St. John's) is a 4-star.

Not sure what is going on at Rivals, though - they still have Brendan as a verbal (as opposed to signed).

I hate talking positions talk nowadays, because I think it becomes less and less relevant every year. FWIW, looking ahead I think Adams could do a little of both ultimately, but in terms of the "point guard role" for two years he's going to be behind Dowtin and Fatts - two guys who the programs thinks of as future all-A10 players. Likely both of those guys will start next year, despite seeming to play the same position, and as time goes by Adams will get minutes as well. Rather than tell one of these guys that they're now playing X position or Y position, my assumption is we will just be increasingly undefined when it comes to positions and roles.

I remember when people said Dowtin wasn't a Point Guard - never would be.
Sometimes we have Dowtin, Garrett and Russell In the game at the same time.
Based on performance Hurley is going to find a way to have the best players on the floor.

And, just a few spots below Adams is our former recruit Amir Harris, ranked as the #47 SG.

yes, but he's doesnt post on twitter as frequently as the others. He's prob sitting back and waiting for the official announcement. I'm not too concerned right now

He will be a great talent here.
Although Jeff played the point 80% of the time he was on court, he and Fatts play the two as well. Jeff was the primary point, only in half court sets. Stan, JT and Fatts were the primary transition guards.

I see Brendan's time to be significant even though we have five guards.....Our current system requires many guards. That is the trend today.

I know his brother was a beast, but he’s not a great passer for a PG, and his scoring numbers and percentages weren’t great in AAU play. What was supposed to be his calling card?

Sometimes players who maybe weren't 100% sure use the coaching change as a reason to open back up.
Some re-sign after looking around a bit. Never know. He seems like a nice kid from a nice family.

I think Adams was waiting to see if Fatts and Dowtin were staying.....he was the only one of the 4 that would most likely not see a lot of playing time his first 2 years here.

I saw Adams spelling both Fatts and Dowtin his freshmen year, that’s a hell of an opportunity. We have no guard depth and it just got worse. Expect Cox to target guards with the last two spots.

He was almost certainly going to get playing time as a freshman. We need to hope Fatts and Jeff stay healthy. It can be difficult to recruit a high quality player to come off the bench.

I would doubt that. He has to get his staff together. Focus is on Assistant Coaches and then a 5th transfer shooter.
