Almost every kid, from our current players to potential recruits talks about our program, our culture, I think one even said "how they treat their players." I don't think we ever saw the results of Baron's "it's a process" but we are definitely seeing the results of the culture building Dan focused on and talked often about in the early days. While the beaches in Narragansett are nice ;) these are the things kids care about. And setting yourself apart from others in this area can help a school like URI convince a kid (and his parents) that this is a better place to land than perhaps someplace with a higher profile.

An interesting Final 8.
4 Teams from the Atlantic 10 and then 4 others that I would have had great difficulty guessing......
UMASS
George Mason
St Josephs
URI

and then.....
Minnesota
Georgia
Wyoming
Princeton

And just like that it's a final 9 now with Georgia Tech being added.

Great comment from BAR--could not have said it any better.

No St. Bonaventure on that final list? I thought maybe he'd at least include them, but if he's not interested, no need to waste anyone's time.

And BAR, it was Jermaine Harris who commented on how they treat their players. So, you know, that's kinda good.

IN HIS OWN WORDS
Adams talked about some of the schools he’s still considering.
George Mason: “It was good. It was impressive because I didn’t really know what to expect going into it, but it was an incredible experience.”

Georgia: “I liked Georgia. I expected Georgia to be a lot, and it was everything expected. They said I would switch between the ‘1’ and the ‘2’ and use me off ball screens and down screens.”

Georgia Tech: “They call me a lot and they want to get me down on that visit and see how I like it.”

Rhode Island: “They were real good last year and I know they are in the same conference as St. Bonaventure where my brother plays. I watched them and I think they are good and can be good for a long time.”

RIVALS' REACTION
Right now, Adams is saying all the right things about giving all the schools a chance to impress him on a visit before he starts making a pecking order or the schools recruiting him or even coming to a decision. Georgia really impressed the Maryland native, and Rhode Island seems to have his full attention as well.

Let's lock on a commitment next week, that would really get this class going and add momentum going into the Harris visit!

Unfortunately I think Irma is forecasted to impact next weekend when he is scheduled to be here. I love storms, but I hope it doesn't make for a bad experience on his visit.

He didn't mention Wyoming in the latest article (maybe the writer just didn't include comments on them), but he's going on an official visit there the week after he visits us

His visit starts Thursday and should go to Saturday or Sunday. Thursday looks like bad weather and Irma should be just south/southeast of Florida on Friday. Friday and Saturday should be nice here. If we get anything from Irma it would be at the end of his visit if he's even still here

Verbally you can. Can't sign until November anyway.

I knew you couldn't sign until November and I'm pretty sure you can't commit in any way while on a visit

You can definitely commit on visits, and coaches usually try to get commitments from their top recruits on campus. Last recruit I remember committing on their visit was Dowtin.

A verbal commitment has no official status with the NCAA, so they couldn't really make a rule about that even if they wanted to.

The only kind of weird rule like the one you are mentioning here that I know of, is that a coach cannot contact a recruit during the 48 hours of that recruit's official visit to another school. If a coach gets caught calling or texting a kid while on an official at another school, theoretically the NCAA could get involved and penalize the coach or program.

So, with Brendan's visit starting tomorrow, I thought I'd post his twitter account for anyone interested. It's very possible that if we can get Brendan, then Jermaine Harris will follow. Big visit.

agree NorthernRamFan, if this kid is anything like his brother Jaylen (and I think he will be) we need to wow this kid this weekend! Like earlier posts about him being tight with Jermaine, if he commits after the visit, and can do some pre-recruiting to Jermaine before his visit, we could well be on our way to the best class ever.

Of course this is all wishful thinking currently, but we have these kids visiting on officials, now DH and team need to close them!

Right, because A10 talk and George Mason fans keep saying final four, but he's visiting Wyoming next week. It's a final five.

At least of the conference. If Brendan is anything like Jaylen, he will be a great catch for whoever gets him. Dan's got a nice track record developing excellent guards, Brendan would certainly be a great one to continue the tradition or pattern Dan has developed.

Rhode Island (Official Visit 9/7)
Wyoming (Official Visit Scheduled 9/15)

Nice article Giovanni, thanks for posting....................

In the body of the article you have this about Dayton:
Also Anthony Grant has a huge visitor coming to Dayton. Four-star combo guard Dwayne Cohill is making his first official visit this weekend and he will check out the Flyers. Cohill has been a top priority from day one for Grant and his staff, and now they get their chance to take a big swing with the highly touted prospect.
Also in the Body of the Article they talk about Cincinnati and Xavier. In the other key visitors they list Butler.

But it is impressive to have Dayton and Rhode Island singled out for having key visitors this weekend.
