The kid can shoot that's for sure. I'd rather a guy like this over Malik Martin

Interesting that Zags states his visit will be 8/11... I'm assuming the team will be back earlier on Saturday than expected

No. It's Sept. 8 to Sept. 11.

Editing moderately for flow, this is from the piece:

Despite helping William Allen High School (Pa.) to a 26-3 record his senior year, Tyrese Martin didn’t feel satisfied. By the end of the season, Martin had mainly been recruited by low to mid-major Division I schools: Norfolk State, St. Peter’s, Rider, Central Connecticut State, Hofstra, Quinnipiac, Wagner, FIU, Canisius, Robert Morris, UNC-Wilmington, San Diego, and St. Bonaventure. As a result, he decided to delay his collegiate career until 2018 and enroll at Massanutten Military Academy (Va.) for a year of prep school to fine-tune his skills on the court and possibly attract more colleges. His recruitment has spiked. He received an offer from Seton Hall on Saturday, after also receiving offers from Minnesota, LaSalle, Rhode Island, Utah, St. Joseph’s, and Saint Louis since the opening weekend of the Under Armor Association back in April.

To me, it sounds like he was absolutely right. I guess you can be offended if you're St Peter's or Canisius, but I like the kid's attitude.

I hope this puts us in a good position with Moore recruiting him while at Quinnipiac.

Seems like Dan is focusing on big guards/wings that are multidimensional with this class, Tate seems to fall into this category as well. Considering we have Dowtin and Fatts for another 2 and 3 years when this class arrives, this makes perfect sense.

i'm assuming after his visit this weekend and will make a decision or verbal this month?

No mention of him taking an official at Seton Hall, just his unofficial there a month or so ago. Since its between us and the Hall I would think he would decide at most a week or two after he's been to Rhody

I doubt either of them make a decision anytime soon. I'm sure they want to take their visits. Might not know anything until mid-October.

Adams has a visit the 2nd week of October, I believe. That's what I'm going by.

Adams visit with GT is in October, right?

Yeah agree that Adams might not make a decison till after that visit if he is keeping it.

I think Martin would make a decision some time in Sept and hoping since we were is only official he would pick us.

Seton Hall Fan Forum thread on Martin:
https://setonhall.forums.rivals.com/thr ... tin.29761/

There are several posters there that think SHU should be going after higher rated recruits than Martin.

If you spend 2+ days on an official visit to a school, and then commit, you should be able to get the name right.

Nonetheless, very good get!

And with Martin, we have had some pretty decent fortune and results with a couple of other Pennsylvania shooting guards in the past with Pappy and Cat.

He's listed at 6-4 everywhere except Bill's story, which says 6-6. Hope it's true that he's grown 2 inches.
