Cox was an assistant under JT3 at Georgetown for three years before going to Rutgers.

Put him in the Markelle Fultz category.......we will look at a lot of these kids when they big-time us and say "I remember when we were one of the first schools to offer him a scholarship...."

Fultz went to Washington because they were in first on him. So being FIRST can really be good. Not early but FIRST.

First is nice when you are in a P5 conference......when you are a midmajor not so much.....please excuse my bitter cynicism...

Florida was the most recent program to jump in with an offer for Bey, a versatile prospect that has seen his stock soar within the past two months. As of now, it sounds as if Miami, Northwestern and Notre Dame are the three to beat for his services.

Per reports, he just received his NLI release from NC State today as they brought in a transfer from Kentucky. Bey is a Top 150 wing from DC.

We were in on him early. Hopefully David still has a relationship with him. He's just what we need.

He’s going even higher major now. No chance.

I don’t see him going higher major - go get him!

With him being one of a very few potential top players left he could go anywhere there are openings, it's just where he wants to go to get the playing time. If you think Martin, Thompson and Tate are going to be good, in the 2-3 position, you pass and wait till next year. If you think they are going to be just nice pieces (I think Tate will be real good) you go after Bey hard. I think coach will answer that by standing pat.

Bey is better than the other freshmen (except Harris). In fact, if Cox says Akele is fighting for a starting position, since Bey plays the same position, Bey actually could be a starter here. But, I have no idea if he's even considering us at this point. Jeff and Jermaine need to put on their recruiting shoes.

This would be the type of player to use the open scholly on
Go hard after him and use the D.C. Connection
If he wants higher major we have no chance anyway

Agreed, if academics and character aren’t an issue then this is 100% a player we should be chasing with that last scholarship.

Per Evan Gray on Twitter, Bey has narrowed his choices to BC, Vandy and Wake Forest.

Interesting that he left NC State but then narrows recruiting to 3 ACC schools.
P5 for Saddiq. Mid Majors need not apply. Go figure?

Doesn't sound like he's going to the ACC.

I guess you best think long and hard before you sign an NLI to any
ACC school. They will probably release him if he wants to sign on with
a school in another conference. But the ACC doesn't seem to tolerate
recruits playing in conference schools against each other. THe way I read
it even if they release him he has to wait a year before he can play for
another ACC school and then he only has 3 years of eligibility. WOW!
That is brutal !!

Don't many conferences have stiff penalties in place for transfers within the league? I thought the having to sit out 2 years was consistent across the board, maybe I'm wrong.

I'm shocked that the NCAA and it's member leagues aren't putting the interests of student athletes first.

Before anyone gets any crazy ideas .... he is going to visit Villanova. They have two spots left.

Looking at Vandy's recruiting list for 2019 - many of the same players we are targeting.
Vandy is an option for Bey - they have one spot still open
