Fazekas transferring from PC

Unread post by Tom98 »

Just reported from PC. Labeled as a shooting specialist. Great height.... rode the pine this year. I've seen him play quite a few games his freshman year.

If I recall, he was streaky ... could hit a bunch 3s one night and be stone cold the next.

He's terrible. PC fans are probably thrilled.

Not surprised to see him leave. He barely saw any minutes this year especially at the end of the season. Just not athletic enough and too streaky of a shooter. A lower level D1 school will be good for him.

That would be a very accurate assessment.
Writing was on the wall, with PC looking for more athletic wing players for 2017 and 2018.
Fazekas struggled to get minutes this year on a team that for 2/3's of the season played musical chairs at the #2.
Not that 'Zeke would have played #2, but he could have played #3 and slid Lindsey to #2.
Reality is he was the "offensive specialist" that as long as teams didn't defend stupidly, wasn't quick or athletic enough to get his shot off.
He also didn't fit into the defensive system of mostly man with switching on all screens that they implemented in the middle of the season.
He should find success at a lower-level where he can shoot over people/basketball IQ is a little less.
His athleticism won't be as much of a liability in say the Horizon.
That said, if it seems I'm kicking him on the way out, I'm not.
I actually would have loved if he stayed, simply being he does have a strength (shooting), and sometimes you need a shooter to come off the bench and give you some buckets.
But at this point, it seemed he was trending towards 10th-13th man, not hard to see why he wanted to take his talents elsewhere.

Not much to say about a shooting specialist who can't even get close to 40% shooting.
