Being familiar with the local AAU scene and being around both David and his family, I've worked him out previously, I can tell you he's an excellent young man. Many have compared him to a young K Dunn, possibly I bit much, but he's a part of the Mass Rivals program after spending years with Expressions. My assumption is that Ty Boswell knows him well. Hopefully we land him early before he blows up this coming summer.

Providence College was at his game today 3 deep... we weren't even represented...

Cooley must be extremely high on this kid.

Duke was named most outstanding player at this past weekend's Zero Gravity Prep Classic. Pretty impressive since this tourney included highly rated seniors such as Jermaine Samuels, Kimani Lawrence and Wabissa Bede.

There was a tweet that listed MVP, MOP, 1st team all tourney, 2nd team and honorable mention. Duke was named MOP. Swider made 2nd team. I'll post it if I can find it.

Interesting, he's potentially the most "big time" recruit New England will see... I wouldn't be surprised if Calipri was eventually sniffing around this kid!

More of a reason why this kid needs to be on the top of our priority list. He should be a guy that all Rhody fans are following on Twitter. This kid needs to be showered with love and made it known to him that this program needs a point guard that is him not like him in the very near future!

I've only seen David Duke once, but he is certainly an intriguing prospect, and offers show that. It would be so nice to get a local product, that could be a star. From what I have heard, though I will admit not what I consider reliable, I don't think he has much interest in URI . Hope that's wrong. Plus he is the perfect height for a Dan prospect.

Yep, if Duke or Swider stay local, it will be PC, not us.

These guys have blown up big time and probably out of our reach regardless of where they are from. It would be nice though to have a local kid wearing Keaney Blue at some point though

He also might want to stay off PC's campus...pretty sure they just made the top of the list of most segregated schools in America.

I'd like to see him play at Villanova with Swider. Since neither one of them was going to URI, seeing two RI kids playing together for a national powerhouse would be pretty cool.

Local product. Go to PC. Bring money into the city. Represent the city. Lose to URI.

Who cares about Villanova.

I don't care about PC.I would love to see Villanova crush PC. Duke going there would help with that.

I'd much rather talk about how great Villanova is than talk about how great PC is. You just saw that troll. Can you imagine how obnoxious their dumbass fans would be if PC was actually as good as the fans think they are?

Are you saying that maybe PC Fans and Posters over rate the abilities of the players they recruit? Preposterous
And they never criticize their opponents. They want UCONN, URI and BC to win every game they play unless it's against them. Their Board Members epitomize sportsmanship, fairness, level headed thinking, and they are always nice to one another. And they only want their perfect world to be reflected on the URI Board too - how thoughtful and gracious.

Sounds like he's going to PC. Locke's decision takes Florida out and Duke just cancelled his official to Villanova this weekend and will officially visit PC instead.

and rightfully so. Duke just spent last weekend at Virginia Tech attending the Clemson - VaTech Football Game. ESPN Gameday was telecast from there Saturday and it was a wild weekend for students and alumni.

I don't think he's taking an official to PC to tell Cooley he's going to VA Tech.

I don’t think PC's campus environment will compare to Virginia Tech. Maybe he picks PC but over the ACC? All amounts to whether he wants to stay home on Providdnce or venture out. My guess is he ventures out.
Wabissa Bede, PG, toured Duke around last weekend. Bede is an incoming freshman at VaTech and played at the same school as Duke - Cushing Academy. They could form a heck of a back court at VaTech for several years.

No doubt VT has a sick atmosphere but that college football atmosphere does not translate to their basketball program. Basketball plays second to football. VT and Buzz Williams does have a great program though. While you mention Bede, you forget to mention PC has Makai Ashton-Langford as a freshman this year and AJ Reeves committed, both of whom play on the same AAU team as Duke.

I don't think Duke takes the official at PC to tell Cooley he's choosing VT. I say PC but obviously there is some doubt. 70/30 lean to the Friars on Duke.

PC is shaping up to be a very, very, good team/program these next 4-6 years, barring any injuries etc etc.

Six years?
Are they redshirting a lot of players? They have one commit (Reeves) who could be there in 5 years.

Can you define “a very, very good team”?
They are rated behind URI this year.
They haven’t won a first round NCAA tournament game.

I think PC has proved to be a top Big East program over the last 4 years and as long as Ed Cooley is there, they will land recruits and will be a good team. I don't think those comments are far off.

PC is one of like 18 teams in the country going for 5 straight NCAA bids...

Jesus, no need to bash for no reason. Dude gave his opinion based on the coach that runs a good program there and their recent success of 4 straight NCAA tournament appearances.

I hate PC, too, but you have to be blind and stupid not to see that Cooley has done a good job for them, recruiting guys they routinely missed under previous coaches.

I'm not saying Cooley isn't doing a good job or that he isn't a good coach. Just telling a PC fan that if he doesn't like to see PC being bashed, this isn't the place to come.
