IN HIS OWN WORDS
Williams told Rivals.com that Marquette, Syracuse, Georgia Tech, Providence and Rhode Island are talking to him more than other programs.

Do URI and PC just follow each other around offering the same kids? It's not like these kids are from Pawtucket.

Williams was one of those players at Peach Jam who I thought might up better stats than he did. The plus side of that is that he did not really blow up and play above expectations so he could stay within our grasp.
His team did well with City Rocks winning 4 of 5 Pool games defeating Playaz, All Ohio Red, Team Penny, Nike Team Florida and losing to Boo Williams. City Rocks made it to the 8 Team Single Elimination Tournament on Saturday but lost to Team Takeover by 63-59. Team Takeover went to the Championship Game and lost to Oakland Soldiers.

Total Stats for Williams for the 6 games:
39 points
11 rebounds
19-37 FG
0-1 on 3FG
4-11 FT
3 Assists
10 TOs
3 Steals

This has changed. He is now playing his senior year in California. Tate is trying to get him to come here.

This has to be the #1 guard target from a national ranking perspective for whatever that is worth.

So, it would seem his final 5 are URI, Virginia, Virginia Tech, NC State and Minnesota. Hopefully we get one of his visits. He'd be another great get.

Versatile Threat Williams To Play Vital Role On West Coast
Possessing a high-motor, explosiveness, and an adeptness in the rim-to-rim game, 6-foot-7 Class of 2018 guard/forward Jeenathan Williams will gauge his grit against the nation’s elite this season. A recent transfer to esteemed Profilic Prep in California, Williams will entertain one of the country’s most arduous national schedules.

While Billy McKnight’s team has bid adieu to one of the country’s best scorers in Gary Trent Jr. (now at Duke), Williams will immediately assume some of the leadership mantle. A left-handed elite athlete with ferocious athleticism utilized in the above the rim game, Williams averaged 22 points, seven rebounds, and five assists for University Prep in New York State/Class AA.

The Rochester native created matchup headaches with acrobatic finishes which only rarified athletes can pull off.

After toying with the idea of attending New Jersey powerhouse St. Benedict’s, Williams heads to a Prolific Prep program that also features 6-foot-11 high-major prospect Jordan Brown. Brown currently has offers from Cal, Gonzaga, Oregon, UCLA, and a barrage of others.

Williams will also be flanked by Jared Martin, a 6-foot-5 all-state shooting guard from Arizona. The infusion of new talent will look to fill the void left by Trent Jr., Abu Kigab (Oregon), and Paul Scruggs (Xavier). The Crew will look to regain a berth in the Grind Session state championship, where they fell to DeAndre Ayton-led Hillcrest Prep (Az.) after a 29-3 campaign in 2016-17.

“My summer was great, but I’m not satisfied at all,” said Williams, who is sifting through 20+ Division-I scholarship offers.

“My role is to be a leader, make plays, and to learn more of the game of basketball from coach Billy (McKnight) while I work to keep getting better and taking care of my body to get ready for college.”
Providence, Syracuse, Marquette, Virginia, N.C. State, Minnesota, Buffalo, Canisius, Georgia Tech, and a bevy of others have all heaped a scholarship offer on Williams.

Williams, who hails from the same regal recruiting real estate that produced Thomas Bryant, rattled off “Buffalo, UMass, Rhode Island, and Illinois” as some of the programs who have been most persistent in their pursuit as of late.

Playing one of the toughest schedules in the country and the national exposure that comes with it, especially with the ramped up competition level of Grind Session, were two pivotal factors in Williams’ decision to transfer.

Having worked significantly on his handle and operating offense, Williams has established himself as a versatile threat. He envisions himself as a multi-positional, jack of all trades type at the ensuing level of play.

“I see myself being the same position in college, a point forward type,” said Williams, who plays for the Albany City Rocks on the AAU circuit.

Length, finishing ability, and an evolving jumper will be the foundation of Williams’ growing skill-set. He’s displayed consistency in the mid-range game, where he’s developed a knack for elbow jumpers. Described by teammates and coaches as a devout worker with a level-headed persona, Williams’ augmented his stock following a notable performance at Nike Top 100 camp.

He gained immediate notice and offers from Rutgers, Florida State, Providence, Temple, Rhode Island, and about seven others throughout the course of his junior season. Scoring at all three levels has been a priority for Williams since he was a freshman. As a sophomore, he became one of New York State’s most perilous scorers at 28 points per game.

Widely regarded as a Top-30 in the country at the off-guard position, expect continued growth as Williams continues to develop as a big guard.

Moving to the west coast will make this tougher, now west coast programs will surely be jumping on board especially considering he doesn't appear to be narrowing down his list at all currently.

True, but most of his offers are from east coast teams. Minnesota is probably the closest to where he is now. I guess it depends if he plans on signing in November or waiting out the season to see if he gets some west coast teams and sign in the spring.

Weird. Didn't take official visits, at least ones we could find, and even though he says Buffalo was on him the longest he didn't mention them in articles until about two weeks ago it seems. Maybe he got home sick going to the west coast to prep?

Good for Buffalo for landing this type of talent.
