All these other programs have 4 of 5 front court players they are targeting with harris but for us he is our unquestioned #1 overall target. Hope he is feeling that love.

Kansas just picked up a commitment from a Top 50 6'10 forward, their second big man commit.

Hopefully that cancels them out!

Yes, it's 48 hours. And he was scheduled to arrive on Friday night, not Thursday. When Harris visited WV last week, he posted pictures of his visit, including the one with Huggins and he followed some WV players and some students on twitter. He did none of that here. Unless this visit was kept quiet for some reason, I find that a little strange.

Everyone, including Koch, who covers the team, reported he was arriving on Friday. His visit had been set for weeks starting on the 22nd....Friday.

No he didn't but a member of the staff did have to leave early to get him from the airport. It really doesn't matter to me if people think he arrived on Thursday or Friday. That's really minor in the grand scheme of things. I'm just giving info that I do know for a fact.

Also FYI a recruit can be provided transportation and lodging the night before their official visit begins. The visit officially begins when the recruit steps foot on campus...

Complete silence is pretty much the way the URI Coaching Staff handles things. I actually prefer this method. It may not be as much fun not knowing all the gossipy details but this Coaching Staff is showing itself to be more than capable.

But it's something that all programs experience.
The old regime had little or no suspense in the 21st century until Hurley arrived. We used to get to April and May and guys would be signed that we had never heard of or guys that it would be very difficult to find information on. Now we are providing offers to 2019 kids. Already have 3 of 5 slots filled before they play their first game as Seniors in HS. Players participating on Strong Teams in the AAU EYBL Circuit, or Under Armor or Adidas. Langevine, Dowtin and Russell all played on Teams that were in the Top 10 in USA Today Top 25 Polls.

I'm more interested in the results of who we sign versus the details of the process. Have faith. This program is on a roll and rolling better than ever.

WVU will be tough to beat, no doubt, but I would never count out Dan Hurley, David Cox, rest of staff and players themselves

I understand the pessimism on this board. No one wants to get their hopes up. After all we are not a perennial powerhouse who lands kids like this all the time. That being said I have a lot of faith in our staff to evaluate talent. I have a lot of faith in our staff persuading this young man to come to URI.

Keep the faith people. Don't read into anything.

Jermaine is normally very active on twitter. Like I said, he posted that pic with Huggins and followed some WVU players and students when he was there. If you look at his Twitter page, you wouldn't even know he'd been here. He did follow Fatts, but that was weeks ago. No one from URI since. Maybe Dan is becoming Belichick and told Jermaine not to tweet about the visit...

In the end it's just going to come down to Harris picking a school that he feels is the best fit for him. Hope he picks us but if he doesn't we got to go hard for Plan B

I wish Coach L wasn't involved with this one. Guy has been on a tear. And he gets what he wants out of the DMV because of his Mason ties.

Hope we pull this out. A10 plays tons of games near Harris' family. They will be able to see lots of games.

Larranaga? Is he part of that? Mason ties would be short for George Mason.

I am sure you remember his Final Four team at George Mason in 2006. A team that is found in the DMV area.

As long as we aren't involved in this, our relationship with Adidas shouldn't hurt us on the recruiting trail.

My guess is that this is not just an adidas problem - though they were the first apparel name to come out. If they're involved I'd be shocked if Nike/UA/et al are not also implicated to some degree.

One of the accusations was adidas had a payment lined up for a recruit and were told they needed to pay more because an unnamed company had offered more than adidas' originally accepted offer.

I don't believe we are high enough on the food chain to warrant involvement with shoe companies and agents paying kids.....our level of recruit would not seem to indicate that.....if we were signing top 50 kids every year I would be worried....
