He plays with New Heights (same AAU program as Hassan Martin) and is scheduled to take an unofficial in June.

Did they open up his mix tape with a clip of him talking shit to an opponent? I think I love that...

I don't care about the dunks or trash talk,
but he's got a nice mid-range jumper, that he takes
fading back.

this one shows him scoring from different places on the court- dunks and tip-ins but more of that jumper, too. that first dunk is impressive, though... he can jump a little.

Looks like a kid who could blow up. Very athletic. Also a good shot blocker. A young Hassan with a better shot? Need to get him early.

I would be pretty happy if we signed this kid. Has a lot of raw tools.

Didn't see much Hassan in him - struck me more as an Ulmer-type player (maybe slightly less explosive athlete, better jump shot). In any case, looks like he'd be an impact player at Rhody. Would be a good get.

Meaning Hassan as a high schooler. Remember Hassan was much thinner four years ago than he is now. Athletic shot blocker and explosive around the basket is the comparison. This kid looks like he could be a better offensive player though.

Visiting later this week, I think Thursday?

I like this guy, a lot. He can jump out of the gym and hit a jumper, too.

I'm cool with last year's approach... unofficials over the summer and then wrap it up officially in the Fall. That was fun. But every year, I get overly invested in a specific recruit. Found him.

I really hope you go 4-5 because this kid would be a great player for us. Great fit for playing time with so many upper classmen this year.

That's a really smart and good move for him. He needs to fill out physically, and he gets the stability of a solid program like Brewster and the chance to face great competition.

Now I need a new '17. Russell and Marshall seem obvious. We'll see.

Unless we can convince Jermaine Samuels to turn down UConn and Villanova...

Since reclassifying, he's reportedly picked up offers from Memphis, USC, SMU, UNLV, and St. John's.

Will graduate this year. Might be going back to being a '17. Still undecided. Could still do a post graduate year at Brewster.

Yeah, you would think this would be a perfect situation for him. Instant starter for a potential top 25 team. But I guess he'd rather sit for a year somewhere else and watch. Another example of a kid who we're on early, blows up, and we're out.

It can be frustrating but most of these kids are told on a daily basis how terrific they are. To the point they really believe they can go in anywhere and play right away.

And to be fair - It probably takes a certain amount of "I'm the fucking best!" to be a competitive collegiate basketball player in the first place.

As Jim Harrick once said "every kid thinks they are going to be the next Michael Jordan, and every parent thinks they are better than that."
