Great news! Hit the big man trifecta.

From that picture I think Cyril had his mind made up a few days ago........

Well I don't think any Rhody fan can shake a fist at this recruiting cycle. Three, 3 star bigs, never thought I'd see the day, love it!

My favorite part of the article:
During the famed Nike Peach Jam in July, the Jersey native went up against a blistering frontline from the St. Louis Eagles that showcased three top-75 recruits, and was able to finish with a double-double in the matchup. Upon more chances given, Langevine was more than able to step up and produce from 10-feet and in.

Can see him improving in his senior year and then a perfect candidate to improve even more with ARD helping to make him maybe even better than just an "important piece".

The more I read/hear about the big men we have coming in the more I feel like they are going to end up being the perfect type of A10 big men. The type of guys we have seen on other A10 teams over the years and wished we had. I can't wait to see them all in action.

We are going to be very hard to beat going forward, and if E.C. stays through his senior season, we may be in for the best Rhody ride next year since the birth of the FastBreak. This will be the first time in my memory that we could have multiple talents at every position.

I saw an early preseason national top 25 that had St. Pat's at 15.

The highlighted players were Langevine, Aiken, and Nick Richards (a five star who will have his pick of schools).

North Jersey high school basketball is going to be fun this season. St. Anthony is the best they've been in a few years. Posted because there's a brief mention of Langevine.

Great article and interview by Chris. Another really young one like EC and Hassan, just turning 17. His coach compares him to Bembry, wow. Sounds like tons of upside for this kid. He does have a nice looking stroke from the outside.

I'm pretty excited about this kid. And this recruiting class in general.

Christion Thompson and Dowtin in the back court will be very tall. Then this kid at the small forward with the louisiana guy at the 4 and Tertsea at the 5. Wow ton of height and skill in that group. All gym rats. Very exciting times to be a Rhody fan.

I'm all for second chances, but can you imagine being a parent and you go through the process of choosing which school is right and then he's hired out of the blue? I wonder if the school has put in any measures to make sure he's a changed person and that he's treating the players fairly.

The school announced that he had gone through extensive anger management workshops, as well as sensitivity training regarding LGBT issues. How effective these measures are obviously remains to be seen.

I have people I like, trust, and respect on all sides of the situation regarding Mike Rice.

Regardless, it seems just a matter of time until he's back coaching at the college level.

He's been in and around basketball almost since he got fired. He's been running some St. Pat's practices. The month takeover and then moving to an assistant job is kind of strange. Regardless, at this point he might just want to shut up and coach. His comments since this has been announced have not been great.

Well he better practice them now, god knows he won't get any work done on them while he's here!

(Seriously though, 0-8 is distressing. Hope it's just an aberration.)

Kevin Boyle's Montverde team lost, so no chance for a match-up against St. Pat's. That's a shame. The storylines would have been great.

Championship game is tonight st 8:30.

In the second game, Cyril Langevine, a 6-8 senior committed to Rhode Island, led Patrick School with 15 points and seven rebounds. Chaminade's Jayson Tatum, a Duke commit ranked the No. 2 senior by ESPN, had 14 points after averaging 34.5 points in the first two games at City of Palms.

ramster, from what we've heard, Langevine and Layssard are going to be good ones!

Could be REALLY good. Big upside.

Can it be next year already?

City of Palms is the premier HS Holiday Tournament.
USA Today Top 25 Teams in this Tournament:
1 Monteverde ( to give an idea of the talent here this team lost twice!!)
2 Chino Hills
10 Chaminade
15 Westerville School
21 Wheeler
24 Miami Norland
Plus teams like Spain Park, Thomas Jefferson, Lehigh Senior, Weslayan Christian, The Patrick School, High Point Christian.....

Now of interest to URI:
The Patrick School upset #24 ranked Miami Norland and #10 ranked Chaminade and will now play #2 ranked Chino Hills tonight at 8:30 for the Championship. The Patrick School is just outside of the Top 25 but not any more with these two big wins.

Against #10 Chaminade. Consider Chaminade has the #2 ranked player in ESPN in Jayson Tatum who is going to Duke:
#2 ESPN ranked Tatum had 5-15 FG, 3-4 ft, 14 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block, 2 steals in 32 minutes. #51 ESPN ranked Tyler Cook had 17 points.
Langevine had 6-8 FG, 3-4 ft, 15 points, 7 rebounds with 3 offensive, 1 block and 1 steal in 24 minutes. Leading scorer on his team.

Against #24 Miami Norland.
#21 ESPN ranked Dewan Huell had 5 points and 6 rebounds with the rebounds being second highest for the game.
Langevine had 4 points and a game high 12 rebounds with 6 on the offensive glass.

Tonight Langevine goes up against #2 Ranked Chino Hills and the 3 Ball Brothers. Chino plays their 5 starters the whole game unless foul trouble. 6'6" Lonzo Ball is verbaled to UCLA.

A favorite poster from our neighbors north said PC would not recruit the level players URI signed in November, including Langevine. He did admit to PC recruiting Layssard (who they offered).

Chino beats The Patrick School 66-60 in OT. Very respectable showing by the Patrick School in this prestigious tournament. Chino will now move to #1 in national rankings.
Cyril Langevine had 7-12 FG for 14 points and his 6 rebounds led his team - played 30 minutes. Very solid performances by Cyril in the 3 games. He made an all tournament team that is loaded talent.
Played his way up to 4* ranking imho playing against the best players in country. Note tweets in verbal commits. Great early verbal for DH and staff.

Headed to Rhode Island, Cyril Langevine looks like a high level player for the Rams. He was excellent in a variety of ways for The Patrick School scoring 22 points and pulling down 6 rebounds. Langevine is a good athlete with long arms, and he can score off the bounce against a taller player and then also score on the post when someone not as big is on him. Langevine is a good looking long term prospect for the Rams.

St. Pat's (ranked 3rd in NJ, also nationally ranked in Top 10) played in a regional tournament over the weekend.

Langevine's numbers-
Against #15 Trenton Catholic- 14 points, 11 rebounds
Against #6 Hudson Catholic- 13 points, 13 rebounds, 3 steals, 5 blocks

Mike Rice is stil coaching that team. For whatever you want to say about him, he coaches great defense and this team seems to be really close and to be enjoying playing for the new Rice. They're without 5 star big Nick Richards (concussion) and haven't fallen off that much. They're scheduled to play in the HoopHall Tournament mid-month, which is always a great event with a high level of competition.

In videos he has posted on Instagram he seems to have a solid back to the basket game, and ability to score with both hands. While originally I had compared him to Hassan in terms of being a late bloomer I actually think he will bring a more polished offensive game with him to Kingston next year based on what I have seen. I look for him and Layssard to both be pushing for immediate playing time when we tip off next year. Though not as sexy as EC-Hassan this recruiting class could be Dan's best when all said and done.
