Maybe Iverson can help?
He is 6'9" with a 7' wingspan.

Is he a PF? Thought he was more of a 3, along with Butts.

In any event, we'll have a lot of 3's next year.

Well, he has to play somewhere.
You have EC, Terrell, Garrett, and Martin.
Iverson, if he as advertised may be better than any of them.
Then there's Thompson.
Looks like quality depth, except at center.

Makes sense. Just because we can't "see" it via Twitter or other methods doesn't mean the wheels aren't yet turning for potential grad-transfers.

I feel like we're in court.

" Check grad transfers."- Ace.
I responded, that there's no way to check them.
There isn't
It's all internal dealings. Obviously there are sub rosa communications happening,
which we're not privy to..

Objection!!!

Not really, I just always wanted to yell that.

I probably should have used the word consider (in that, please consider what unofficial conversations are most certainly being had regarding grad transfers) instead of check, although there are already some names out there.

You don't need a placeholder. This has been around for a while.
Looks like he went from 6'6" to 6'8 from just being recruited.
Looks like he can score, but please tell me this isn't out big man.

From http://www.rockymounttelegram.com/sport ... -i-2817777:

Freeman, a 6-foot-7, 225-pound forward, has paced Hutchinson to the National Junior College Athletics Association Tournament that begins this week. He averaged 21 points, 11.7 rebounds, 4 assists and 1.5 steals during three games in leading his team to the NJCAA Region 6 title.

He earned MVP honors and was named the NJCAA’s National Player of the Week, highlighting a season in which he averaged 19 points and 9.5 rebounds per game on 54 percent shooting.

A long list of major Division I programs await where he will call home for the next two seasons.

Virginia Tech, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Rutgers, St. John’s, Rhode Island, Wichita State, Arizona and Arizona State have either offered scholarships or shown interest.

This would be a huge get. Not a center, but would make our frontcourt much stronger.

He is ranked number 18 best Juco according to 247sports. That's a high ranking so he must be talented. Anybody know what kind of player he is positionally?

There is some tape of him in this video. He's the last one to be shown, in the last minute of the tape. It's mostly dunks, but also one very nice spin move near the hoop. He also looks to be very aggressive going after blocks on defense.

Everyone loves the athleticism and ability this kid has, but our tallest player is 6'8 and he doesn't play forward!. I know we are not the recruiters or coaches but we need a Jordan Hare!

There are a couple other more recent stories about Freeman, the most recent in the Hutchinson Post, if I knew how to post them here I would. Basically they all say the same thing; he's a 6'7 inside player. A very strong PF who operates around the basket. A great rebounder. Good shot-blocking skills. Great personal character. Good teammate.

He's a Hassan Martin clone. What's better than one Hassan Martin? Two of them. I've been on Deshawn Freeman watch for a few days now, hoping he will give us comittment after his meeting with Hurley and Murray.

This would really be a nice addition.

If we can't get a true center, another Hassan type would be an upgrade over Gil.

A front line of 6'7", 6'8", and 6'9" wouldn't be too shabby.

Having a 6'10 guy or taller, doesn't really mean a lot, unless they can play.

It's all about quality, not quantity.

As near as I can tell, Freeman did not verbal to Virgina Tech following his visit there this weekend. It appears that Rutgers is pushing hard for a visit. I hope we are too. Seems to me Freeman would be a great fit here and we can offer him the opportunity to play a lot of minutes right away on a good team

Eh that sucks. Why the hell would someone go to Rutgers on purpose? That is a last place program with zero hope of ever really getting much better.

Yep this sucks. This is the one I really thought would be helpful next year, more than Wily or any of the other mediocre 6"10 inch guys.

The irony to me is the other guy the same size, DJ foreman that we were heavily involved in also chose Rutgers. Interesting to see how Foreman and his dad might look at this since it looks as if Rutgers recruited over him?( His dad was heavily involved and if I remember correctly visited with URI with his son)

That was when we didn't have any scholarships.
With 3, who cares, as long as we get a big sometime
this cycle.
Junior Etou left Rutgers. He was supposed to be a big deal.
He went to Tulsa.
I watched Foreman. He wasn't anywhere near as advertised.
Some compared his game to Kevin Durant.
Spoke to Dan about him, and he said he didn't think Foreman was
as good as Martin.
I never felt the two were interchangeable, but whatever.

This is the first guy this spring that I thought we had a shot with that I wanted that has chosen to go somewhere else. It isn't the end of the world but makes getting a guy like Wally and a guy like Kyle Washington even more important.

There is a cetain irony here:
via ESPN Rankings
DJ Foreman was 3 star rating of 76 listed as 6"7 200 lbs exactly the same as Butts

Freeman listed as 6"6" 210 the rest of the stars and rankings exactly the same as above.

For whatever this is worth........
