Because I wanted to see it all in one place, here's a list of the players they've brought in. I think this is all of them.

2012: Hare/HS (?), Aaman/HS (medically ineligible, Wagner), Munford/J (graduated), Bigby/GT, Biruta/T (graduated), Minnis/T (Wright State), Reischel/T (EKU), Onyekaba/HS (quit)

2013: Matthews/HS, Martin/HS, Butler/HS (UT-Martin)

2014: Garrett/HS, Terrell/HS, Watson/J

2015: Thompson/HS, Akele/HS, Iverson/T, McGlynn/GT, Berry/J, Robinson/T, Butts/HS (not cleared by NCAA)

2016: Layssard/HS, Dowtin/HS, Tertsea/HS, Langevine/HS

Few thoughts- it's not surprising that the first class has the worst outcomes. There were previous connections to Aaman and Hare but all other official recruiting started in April. The multi-year non-playing, scholarship-space-taking spots of Powell and Hare were inconvenient but necessary in the bigger picture. Ideally, they would have added a better big in '15 (sorry to the fan favorite and very likable Berry), but they couldn't get one. They changed up some things and got two in '16, which is a response you would have hoped and expected to see.

And physical, and big and with improved shooting
We lose Watson and McGlynn
We gain:
EC Mathews
Stanford Robinson
Langevine
Dowtin
Layssard
Tertsea

The battle for starting spots and playing time will make for a very strong team

Just wondering what the chances are that some of 16 recruits will see an increase in their rankings. Any ideas?

Langevine is getting a lot of attention with his McDonald's nomination. I'm guessing his will go up.

Roughly 400 people received nominations.
"Players were nominated by high school coaches, athletic directors, principals and members of the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee."
It's a nice achievement for anyone nominated, but I don't think it means much that can't already be seen by on-court performance.

Stop downplaying it. It's an amazing achievement not a "nice" one. These guys work their asses off to just get a nomination and they deserve all the credit in the world.

I feel like I know 3 guys that were nominated just from RI growing up. Not sure they were amazing basketball players.

It's a fantastic life acehivement, I agree with that.
But in the scope of basketball, I don't think it means much that wasn't already known.
I don't think a recruiting site is going to be wowed by a player on the list with 400 other guys.
Continued on-court success will do the talking.
Now if he made the game, whole different story.
But that's just speaking the obvious.

I'm with RJ on this. Good for Cyril, glad he was nominated, good life achievement that doesn't happen for many basketball players. He won't be shooting up top 150 lists because of his nomination. If he shoots up the lists it will be because of his tremendous play thus far in his senior season.

If he makes the McD's AA team, that's a different story. It's also not happening.

26? The equivalent of 2 full teams?

Creighton has also extended an offer to Jaelin Llewelyn from Orangeville. Dad played with Creighton assistant Preston Murphy at URI.

I think his name came up in Jalen Poyser's and Kyle Alexander's recruitment. Might be why it sounds familiar. Was it that Jalen's and Jaelin's dads were close?

Yeah, I learned that during the recruitment of Jalen Poyser. I guess Mark (his dad and a coach with CIA Bounce) and Cordell know each other. I think that's the connection.

I don't think any of our '16 class is. Some from '17..Wabissa Bede, Kimani Lawrence, Aaron Wheeler, Tomas Murphy. Some pretty high profile guys that we recruited like Wenyen Gabriel and Kevin Marfo will be there.

The 247 recruiting site made some updates. The class of Dowtin, Langevine, Layssard, and Tertsea ranks 4th in the A10 (behind UMass, VCU, and GW) and 69th nationally.

What kind of person names their kid David Duke?

Anyways, it didn't take Bob Sr. long to send Little Bobby a 4-star recruit.

Daniel Mading

It looks like we didn't even inquire, at least according to rivals. I don't want to make a big deal about it, because I don't think Bobby Sr. is obligated to steer kids our way, and I'm not even sure he could if he wanted to. But I do think it is interesting that whatever has prevented Dan from getting a kid from St. Anthony, it doesn't seem to apply to Bobby.

I've never understood that. The choice between being a star at a mid major or sitting the bench at an elite. Of course, all these kids believe they're going to be stars no matter where they go.

How well do you think kids like those who are so sure they are stars would do in a Dan Hurley coaching environment? Seems incompatible.

With all due respect, ATP, someone such as Enoch was coveted by URI, and for good reason. Perhaps, "The UConn System" doesn't benefit a player with Enoch's tools as much as Dan Hurley's putting Enoch in the position to succeed.
Look at Terrell and "The Announcement" and what eventually happened with the OSU situation. Big star, poof, gone before he even laced 'em up for the Cowboys, lands here and fits right in.
Coach Hurley is great at breaking them down to build them up, but the big test is in the recruiting process. Some do fail afterwards.
Enoch will see the error of his ways.
Robinson did.
Goodman's got a list of all the stars who still want to be stars.
Some of whom have been on the list twice and even three times.....

Kentan Facey....funny story Dan told me once....
Said Facey made his reputation at a big AAU
tournament where the basket was 9 feet tall.
Said Facey looked like a world beater, dominating the
9 foot baskets.
The word used was "myth".
As far as Enoch and Facey, I think Kevin Ollie is even
more guard oriented than Hurley.
They would likely have done better in different system.
URI did want Enoch, but his dream was UConn and he declared pretty
early.
URI cancelled his official visit, figuring that it was a waste
of a visit.

Three of the '17s we have or had been recruiting are now top 100 recruits, all being in the 40-70 range. Quade Green, Jermaine Samuels and Kimani Lawrence. Do we have a realistic shot at any of them?

So we have two scholarships for '17s? Hassan and Iverson, did I miss anyone?

I wonder how much Munford's playing in the NBA will help recruiting. Hurley obviously coached NBA players in high school, but I have to imagine it should help recruiting to show a player of his that played here made it.

Push EC out after the year to get his scholarship!???? Just Kidding.

But regardless it is interesting what is going on with Thornton at DUKE.

I hope the Thompson's and the Dowtin's make it all the way 4 years. Just considering the amount of guys in the back court.

Has there been someone every year that has left URI before their time expired since DH started?
