Carter is cousin of Cleveland Cavs guard Dion Waiters, who is good friends (and workout buddies during summer) with Biggie Minnis. Solid connection for Rhody.

Yeah, no one wanted to see that (or try to promote that) last year. Onward and upward, people.

A whole row of guys. I was told an entire AAU team was there,
and Matt Cimino was one of the recruits present.
He's a 6'10" shooter!

There were a lot more there than those three guards.
Cimino is an intriguing prospect. We've been in on him for a long time.
Again, who knows how hard we are recruiting him, of if there's
returned interest?

Cimino is a strange case. He looked like a lock to go to a top 20ish program a year or two ago. Easily in the top 150 of the 2014 class and now he is visiting a place like Tulsa? I wonder what the story is. Good profile. A tall face up four who can really shoot. I know BC was definitely on him early. That no longer seems the case. I think he would be a nice fit at Rhody. At least a kid with his profile. This team could use a tall guy who can shoot over defenses. Especially after Biruta graduates.

Maybe he had a bad AAU summer?
Kids rise and fall, based on their performances in
all the tournaments.
Must be a fine student, judging from the schools on his list.
He's listed at 200lbs, so he's in the Jordan Hare physique category.
Maybe the big schools want more of a banger at the four?
I'd like to see him sign here. I didn't realize we were still in on him
until last night.

They were previously listed as having some interest in Crew, not sure how far it's gone. I also read that he's planning on taking his mission trip right after graduation, so I'm not sure how basketball fits in with that.

The University of Rhode Island did things a little differently, getting a jump start on the competition by hosting “Rhody Rockus” on Thursday night. The event attracted local products like Matt Cimino, Jarvis Garrett, Crew Ainge, Saul Phiri, Tomas Murphy, and others along with Traci Carter, a national top 100 caliber prospect in the 2015 class from Life Center Academy in New Jersey.
