Sadly, as others have noted, URI identifies top talents very, very early, then the players truly develop and take the next "leap" -- bingo - the Rams are done…..

As Rod noted a couple of years ago, something to the effect of: "I'm not going to get excited about offering some kid who's in the ninth grade…"

It's a waste of time.
The guys we're after that can come here the following year
are my only interest.
It doesn't matter how good a relationship the kid and/or his family have with the
coaching staff. When he blows up and the big boys come calling, you're instantly pushed aside.

Wasn't a knock….Even in the case of Gabriel, URI offered this past April, kid was ranked #6 in New England, has exploded this summer, and when the next NATIONAL summative ranking is done, Gabriel very well may have climbed to #6 on that.
I read somewhere yesterday that he went for something like 28 points and 23 rebounds in an AdidasNations game….(Corrected)
