URI Rams/HEAT Fan ‏@NewEraURI_Hoops3 Aug
URI is very close to offering '16 NY C Rodney Miller Jr.(@riseabovetherim). Ranked top 10 in nation for 2016. #GoRhody
Expand
I checked this out a few days ago. Very interesting. If he wants to come here because of Coach Hurley and then fall in love with URI, that's fine by me!!!!! (His mother and father seem to be the kind of parents/cornerstones who would relate to what Coach Hurley was referring to in a previous "recruiting interview."
Not sure if anyone has posted this???? I went to the young man's link -- pretty amazing stuff for a kid!!!! Love the guidance he's getting, and better yet, the Bill Russell reference!!!!!!!!!! 8-)

P.S. Tried creating the URL-link, but for some reason……….

Still REALLY early (obviously). He will have tons of offers, but it is hard to know what is what at this stage (almost three years out).

Note that his school is listed as Oak Hill, but this will be his first year there. He previously played at St. Benedict's.

Hopefully being in on him early will pay big benefits.

Same with the others we are offering now.

Big time player.

He'll be a starter on the number one or two prep program in the nation.
Everybody and his mother will be in on this kid.

If you're going to get any of these big kids, it has to
be in the fall.
As later in the year, it will become harder to find bigs, as we're
finding out now.

you would have to hope that the tri-state area/benedicts - hurley connection would be a leg up. That plus an NCAA run that would set up an Iverson/EC/Hassan senior year - which I think anyone would want to be a part of.

One factor you have to consider, especially in NJ, is,
a lot of those high school and prep coaches do not like
either Bob Sr. or Dan.
Prep schools more or less can recruit in a high school's back yards.
Also, the Hurley's have been beating the snot out of everyone in the
NJ high school/prep scene for years.
Read Miracle of St. Anthony, and how some opposing coaches felt
about Bob Sr.
I think it helps explain why we've only gotten Mike Aaman as a four year player from NJ,
and there's been no type pf pipeline at all, so far.

If Andre Berry was adopted by the family of former UMass player
Dana Dingle and hyphenated his name, he'd be
Andre Dingle-Berry!
I'm appearing at The Sands all week, folks!

My favorite play with names was when Minnesota's two best players were G/F Quincy Lewis and G Kevin Clark...it was "Lewis and Clark." Loved it.
