#4 rated center. 6-10 295lbs. About 15 major programs after him. We offered on 10/15. Probably headed to the Big 12, but we can hope for a miracle.

NC State or Baylor, with NC State usually being reported as the favorite.

Forget that, NC State apparently no longer involved. This guy is reportedly a bit high maintenance, hope he keeps it together wherever he ends up (Baylor?).

I heard this a couple of weeks ago.
He seemed hell bent on going to school close to home.
He left VT Academy to go to a closer prep school.
I could be wrong, but I don't see us in the mix.
Supposedly a real talent, though.
I also heard he had academic problems, too.

I got my hopes up for Foster and Foreman.
I'll sit this one out, until I hear anything significant.
Obviously worth staff taking a shot at.

Since the LOI period has ended, when can someone sign now? I'm not getting my hopes up either, but I am slightly excited that we are even involved. This guy is a program changer.

I was wondering the same thing, I'm not sure how it works with the LOI period being over. Would he even still be a '13 recruit?

There's a way to do it- if everything with academics and all that is adequate, he can still be a '13. Minnis, for example, signed his LOI with Texas Tech in September of his freshman year, which is outside of the two official (early and regular) signing periods.

Does this mean that the earliest he could sign is September, or could he sign any time? If so (September), that's too bad. I would think the Italy trip would be a tremendous selling point.

The point of the signing period is to guarantee schollies for the next year.

Dominic Woodson had better make a great case as to why he backed out of a commitment, make a greater case as to why he would want to come here and be part of Dan Hurley's URI team, know that there are no guarantees except hard-work, no pampering, no ego-stroking. That he's going to have to get in shape and earn every second of playing-time.
Woodson must have had some sort of epiphany about what his Future holds after his "all-star appearances."
This will be very interesting……especially if and when Mr. Onyekaba puts Mr. Woodson's nearly 300 lbs. to the daily test. ;)

I read that Baylor wanted him to redshirt this year, that and the fact that their two stars didn't go pro as expected which would have opened up playing time for Woodson.

That Huntington Prep team was a nice collection of players, to say the least.

Woodson is a big guy, he's like a Hare and a Youncofski combined.

For no reason that I can exactly quantify, I'm pretty "meh" on this one.

Woodson only needs to satisfy Dan Hurley and staff, and nobody else,
as to his intent and work ethic, or lack thereof.
Woodson left Vermont Academy to wind up playing second string
at Huntington Prep.
Must've been quite a shot to the ego.
He remains in the low 70's in the ratings, which may be erroneous,
due to conditioning and academics.
Certainly worth looking at, but I wouldn't lose any
sleep if he goes somewhere else.
Did anyone read where an NBA scout called Norvel Pelle, "An AAU disaster"?
Another top whatever guy, who couldn't get his act together in the classroom or on the court.
Too many of these big players, way overhyped. Too many players without a clue as to
fundamentals.

Marshall is out, and Texas and Oklahoma are in the Big 12 with Baylor.
Wonder if Big 12 has the rule most conferences do, about players leaving and having
to sit out two years within the conference?
I am surprised that so many big name schools have openings on their rosters at this late time.
My guess is, he'll wind up with Memphis, which traditionally has taken
players with question marks. UConn under Calhoun did, too Wonder if the new regime will
be any different?
