Re: '13 TX C Dominic Woodson
I guess he can be forgiven for the craziness. He's only 18 ....
Would've been nice to get him, but I'm content to have the extra scholarship for next year.

As these things often go, sounds more like the adults around him then Woodson himself. But I'll say it again, good luck, Pastner.Rhody74 wrote:I guess he can be forgiven for the craziness. He's only 18 ....

Memphis has a great recruiting class coming in. It will be interesting to see how Woodson fits in with all that.

Re: '13 TX C Dominic Woodson
Well, I'm not surprised. I said it probably would be Memphis.
They're a better established program, closer to his home.
What bothers me is, the kid never came here, after he said he'd visit this week.
I know Dan had some doubts anyway, so maybe this would have gone nowhere,
and it would have been Dan's and not Woodson's decision as to coming to URI.
Not a big loss given the questions around Woodson, and his mediocre season at
Huntington.
If he couldn't break Huntington's lineup, he's going to have a tough time
getting off the bench in Memphis.
Anyway, we have two scholarships for a great 2014 class, and some solid recruiting
targets.
On to the next part of the journey.

Good luck, Dominic Woodson, you're going to need it. I hope that you get in shape, stay in shape, and stay in school and get a degree. In Memphis, heck, there's a lot to get distracted by. Don't forget that positive consistency Auntie gave you. I dunno if Memphis is the place to be for that….
Anyway, TWO available slots for 2014!!!!! Awesome!!!!!!

Looks like URI cancelled the visit.
I think it was the right move, given the
questions of personality involved.

I received a letter from URI this week that said Hurley had finalized his recruiting class.

Not that centers grow on trees, but we have enough depth up front for this coming season that I'm fine with rolling the spots forward into 2014 with the staff of recruiters Dan has put together.

Based on where we are with APR, and where this team is as a group - you really don't want a kid who sees himself as a one and done NBA talent, especially if he isn't.
All reports are that he was a primadonna and had an ego to match his size. That doesn't fit the Hurley system.
Dan wants kids that come from strong families and good coaches, not the ones that have handlers, etc.
