Re: '14 Cameroon SF - Samuel Dingba (Offer)
http://www.newenglandrecruitingreport.c ... nships.phpSamuel Dingba (Westchester Hawks): Undersized big man was extremely impressive battling inside for the Westchester Hawks. Dingba is a quick leaper and has long arms that allow him to play bigger than 6-5. He had some bigtime finishes at the basket in the Champsionship and more than held his own against a much taller CBC frontline in the semis. Also a very active defender, the shotblocker is athletic enough to defend the perimieter.

Word is that Samuel Dingba has played like a monster. Boston College recruited him strong last year and still interested #bchoops

Based on people's reaction on Twitter, this was a shocker.

Zaid, his buddy currently on the team, was the main reason he chose Quinnipiac. He felt comfortable there. Not sure how much Rhody was recruiting him.

Re: '14 Cameroon SF - Samuel Dingba (Quinnipiac)
Why? Quinnipiac has been recruiting him hard for two years, he wasn't a priority here (was probably more on their radar a year ago when I think he was still a '13), and he gets to play with a friend/former high school teammate and to stay in the same area. He's a great get for a MAAC team.Rhodymob05 wrote:Quinn? That's a disgrace

Re: '14 Cameroon SF - Samuel Dingba (Quinnipiac)
I think people are getting frustrated that Dan hasn't filled the 2 spots still open for next season.
Again, I think they know who they're after, and maybe the less we [and the world] know about it, the better. Maybe there will be an addition, maybe not.
As Dan has said, they aren't going to bring in just anyone to fill a spot. It's got to be a good fit for his program, or else he's going to leave the spots open, and concentrate more on 2014-15's.
Just a feeling, that there will be an announcement soon on another recruit.

so he is a 2 star player ESPN, no rating with Rivals, 3 star with scout - with offers from Quinnipiac, BU, BC, St Joes and St Bonaventure
URI never offered
you can't "lose" what you never offered

some of these 'offers' aren't worth a whole lot, or so it seems.
totally non-binding anyway.
I like the fact that we're involved with so many 2014-15's. Something will pop. Having a 20 win season this year will help. A lot.

Actually someone made a really good point a while back that with Hurley and the team going on the European trip he may not have had the time to put in to babysit these kids the way you need to sometimes. Maybe he will hold off to the late signing period there always seems to be some kid that comes out of nowhere and has a great year. Also the good thing about that is some schools are already of ships. Another good thing is if the team plays their way on to the bubble it may get them involved with higher level recruits.

Well, the higher up the recruiting ladder you go, the tougher it gets to land that 4 star top 100 guy.
Dan is finding that out. It will take some on court success, to get to the level where say, VCU is now.
If Terrell had come here, it would have been a home run. Just to come that close, says how good this staff is. URI is never going to approach what a school like Oklahoma State can offer, at least in terms of facilities. The only way to close the deal now, is get the program back to a national level of awareness. A Sweet 16 run would do that.
It's going to take at least a full recruiting cycle [4 years] for Dan to get the full depth and level of talent he wants here. Getting EC and Hassan is a good start. Over the next 2-3 years, Hurley will need at least 4-5 more like them, to get there.
