Re: '14 Abdul-Malik Abu (NC State signee)
Since Abu wasn't invited to the draft combine, it would in all likelihood be a terrible decision to declare for the draft. I've got to imagine that if he does decide to leave NC State, it would likely be to transfer to a similar level (Power 5) school.

The definition of addition by subtraction, referring to the old PC water boy not Abu.

That's what was initially reported. Very odd situation where there was virtually no additional news after the initial reports came out.Billyboy78 wrote:I thought it was either the NBA or transfer?

Re: '14 Abdul-Malik Abu (NC State signee)
Is it a 2 year waiting period? If so, the '18 class would be eligible. But Boswell had David Duke in Expressions and everybody is predicting that he's going to PC! I figured he'd be bringing somebody with him.

Re: '14 Abdul-Malik Abu (NC State signee)
Doesn't make any sense for him to transfer and sit out a year. Unless there's some way to get a waiver because Gottfried was fired.

Re: '14 Abdul-Malik Abu (NC State signee)
He needs to graduate this year in order to not have to sit out a year. As a grad transfer he can play right away.

Re: '14 Abdul-Malik Abu (NC State signee)
Yea I was wondering if he is graduating.
It is common for these guys to graduate in 3 years with the summer classes.
He also seems to have his stuff together.

Re: '14 Abdul-Malik Abu (NC State signee)
Even if this were true, isn't there a 2 year waiting period before an AAU coach can bring one of his players in?

Would that even apply for a transfer?

Re: '14 Abdul-Malik Abu (NC State signee)
Boswell is officially DOB, which is designated as a
non recruiting position.
So, I'm not sure any of this applies to Boswell and Abu.
I doubt Abu transfers for one season.
He's done pretty well at an ACC school whose offense is
guard oriented.
In any case, I'm sure Abu will wait to meet the new coach.
Maybe the new coach brings in more favorable system?

Re: '14 Abdul-Malik Abu (NC State signee)
they use the summer credits to lighten their academic load during the season. I would say graduating in 3 years is rare. Even our smartest players didn't do it.Seawrightspostgame wrote:Yea I was wondering if he is graduating.

Re: '14 Abdul-Malik Abu (NC State signee)
Take a hard look at the current Roster, JT played for Expressions as did KI at one time. Think it's a coincidence that Boswell was hired not too shortly after? Deliver a kid? Where planet do you live on? All of these kids think they're gonna be in the NBA, we're lucky we got the 2 we have and if Boswell ever gets the chance to recruit I think he'll do an excellent job as he knows the players in the game.Billyboy78 wrote:Hey, it is time for Boswell to deliver somebody to us.

Re: '14 Abdul-Malik Abu (NC State signee)
I'm not offended, but I am a realist. Where does this fan base get the idea that someone is supposed to just deliver kids? From what I've heard Ty is a good guy and knows the "players" in the "game", but even mentioning his name could be an NCAA violation because he's a coach here and no longer the director of a local AAU program that produced the kid mentioned here. Let's be careful with how we go about connecting the dots, I know none of us want the NCAA lurking for any reason.Billyboy78 wrote:Sorry I offended you...NorthernRamFan wrote:Take a hard look at the current Roster, JT played for Expressions as did KI at one time.
