I like Falzon. Even though this is a down year for BABC, they still made the EYBL 24 Team Invitation to Peach Jam. The fact that he is a big man and he starts for BABC says a lot. He likes to shoot the 3 as evidenced at Peach jam where he ahd the 5th most attempts of players on the 24 teams. He is a good rebounder when he stays inside but of course shooting 3's is going to take you out of offensive rebounding position.
Should be a very strong player for BABC next year - could even be their best big man or even overall player next summer in AAU. Good to see Hurley recruiting him early.

I believe that Falzon is from the Expressions team(not BABC.) We have offered six members of the expression team. Coach Murph is in tight with their coaches.

You are right, sorry about that. Expressions front line is Abdul Malik Abu, Jared Terrell and Aaron Falzone. Guards are Dane Broome and Dimitri Floras.
We have offered Abu and Falzone. Falzone will be only a junior. Abu is highly recruited, especially by Ed Cooley.

There's a reeeeeeally nice stretch 4.
Looks like he can handle, shoot, and rebound.
Good size, too. Wish he was from BABC.

I thought BC offered him a while ago. That has been thought to be his #1 choice.

Kid is a matchup nightmare. Nice stroke. Physical. Decent handle. Plays with an edge.

http://www.bcinterruption.com/boston-co ... ron-falzon

"Falzon, a 6-foot-8, 208 pound power forward out of Northfield Mount Hermon visited campus a few weeks back. In addition to BC, Falzon claims offers from Harvard, Georgia, N.C. State, Northwestern, Penn State, Providence, Rutgers and Texas Tech, among others. New BC assistant Scott Spinelli was Falzon's primary recruiter while at Maryland."

Kinda scared of the BC culture on this one.

Really do not want to get everybody incited, but the truth is that BC's football team is 65% white (based on their site and pictures), their basketball roster (as shown on their site) has 12 of 17 as White. The overall school is clearly not diverse.
It is what it is.

Sounds as if Falzon meets their apparent goals. Of course, I have no idea if it meets his goals.

Not exactly sure where you're going with that, but Aaron would be surprised to learn that he's white.

Kind of surprised he's listed as a power forward. From the video he plays more like a college 3. Has a nice looking shot and appears to be able to drive the lane with good body control. Not much video on him boxing out or putting back rebounds.

He is a sf not a pf. He looks like a matchup nightmare. Able to put the ball on the ground and hit the three. Nasty.

Funny, but other than this guy and one or two others,
it looks like 90% of the offers are for guards.
We have EC, Terrell, Garrett, Butler and Biggie.
Five guys who have at least two years left.
We only lose TJ as a guard and a swingman would be
a preferred replacement for TJ.

Like this guy a lot, whether he's listed as a 3 or 4. One of the weaknesses that remains on our roster is 3point shooting. Seems like he can certainly stretch the floor.

Looks like he's probably going to Harvard. BC is taking some heat for announcing that they are no longer recruiting him. He was scheduled to visit BC next weekend.

Yeah, a few different sources have said he found out on twitter. If true, there are certainly better ways to handle that.

Northwestern seems to still be involved.

Do Preston and Jim Christian even talk to each other?! That situation seems to put Preston in a pretty awkward position.

Talked to a BC buddy of mine last night. First of all, I doubt BC ever responds to this officially, if only because you can't talk about an unsigned recruit. So, everyone is only getting the Falzon side of things. From what he understands, BC had fallen behind Harvard and Northwestern and the staff felt like they were being strung along by not only the family but Ty Boswell and Expressions. So, the staff decided on a power play to curry favor with another top 100 guy they are recruiting at the same position but also BABC (Christian has a very strong relationship with Leo Papile) and Mass Rivals. Now, maybe it's only lip service because they knew they weren't going to get Falzon but I know Boswell/Expressions and BC have never really gotten along. And, of the three big AAU programs near BC, they probably are 3rd in terms of talent. I guess we'll see if it works out for BC but it's definitely interesting to hear how this went down.

Still, it seems Preston was kept in the dark about whatever
Christian and his staff (minus Murphy????) decided.
Preston must be thrilled.

You never know but it seems very unlikely that this wasn't a staff decision. You don't just wake up and pull an offer from a top 100 guy without that coming up in conversation. But, like I said, we'll never get the full story. The Falzon/Dad/Boswell side of things are going to be slanted, for sure.

And someone who is a Christian/Spinelli guy will have his or her own bias. If the reported time frame is accurate, a head coach can't put his assistant in that position. The NE AAU scene has its problems. The public sniping between Rivals and Expressions is an exceptionally bad look.

We were never heavily involved, due to his likelyhood
of going to an elite academics school.
His final two were Northwestern and Harvard.
When you see kids with the likes of Stanford, Harvard, Vanderbilt and Northwestern,
it's showing a different mindset, beyond just basketball.

Following up on the above discussion, BC ended their recruitment of Falzon, and local guy Josh Sharma (Mass Rivals) just committed to Stanford over BC and Wisconsin.
