, Flomo, a 6-1 guard, scored at will over his final 19 games. He scored at least 21 points in 18 straight games, including at least 30 in 10 of those games.
Included in that stretch was a signature performance — Flomo scored 48 of North’s 54 points in a win against Asheboro, including the first 43.

By all appearances, Flomo will be a Division I guard. He signed with Appalachian State last November, but when Appalachian fired Coach Jeff Capel last month, Flomo requested a release from his letter of intent. Jim Fox, Appalachian’s new coach, agreed to that release Friday, Vestal said.
Vestal said that once Flomo’s request for a release was made public, he started to hear from other Division I programs, including some that had recruited Flomo before he signed with Appalachian and some that didn’t.
One of those schools that initially offered a scholarship was Mercer, and Flomo said he was very impressed watching Mercer beat Duke in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The only video I could find was from junior year. Plays a bit like Garrett.

Hurley going to NC Friday to see him. Don't understand the interest in another PG

I think you answered your own question in your previous posts. Looks like the kid can score.

True. He can score. And Garrett can play off the ball.
URI is looking at 3 NC players, including a transfer, so maybe Hurley seems them all on this trip.
When Hurley travels the interest has reached a higher level

Here's a confusing review of Flomo's game (says he's better with the ball, also says he's better without the ball):

If you're going after a scorer, why not Kanayo Obi-Rapu?
He's 6'4", handles the ball like Earl Monroe, and shoots at a higher
percentage.
Garrett is 5'11" and Flomo is 6'1". Can't see playing both of them at once.
At 6'1", he's small for a SG. Plus, we have Biggie for two more years.

There's also this gem: Flomo has a competitive streak and enjoys winning.

You know, as opposed to all those guys who relish losing.

I guess what they're getting at with the on the ball/off the ball comments is that he's better at creating his own shots than running an offense. But yes, they could benefit from an editor.

Biggie and JR will have the option of transferring after next year and playing somewhere immediately as a fifth-year senior. Have no inside knowledge, but if either one doesn't see a lot of minutes next year they'd have to think about it. And it wouldn't hurt the team's APR.

Again, based on stats and a few tapes, Kanayo Obi-Rapu
is hands down better than Flomo.
Watch Obi-Rapu dribble through traffic at high speed.
Something special there.
Why wouldn't you want a bigger, better player?

This is a very interesting point. I don't think this has been mentioned before. Good post, Iggy.

I would think one would be more likely than the other to be able to do that, though.

But why would a contributing player on a tournament bound team want to do that?
(see what I did there?)

Academics, Ace? Must be since you do have go graduate in time to be eligible for the 5th year "grad transfer".

Dan was in NC looking at several players.
So far, nobody is visiting URI based on this trip.

Flomo - No Go
Dan must've made a lasting impression on him.
He was going to back up Devonte Graham at Appalachian.
Nuff said.
