I was watching that game- quite a discussion from the refs about what to call that (flagrant 1, flagrant 2).

Ninja-rebounding. Go for it, Mike!

I watched that game, too. That stupid move lead to his team losing,
by giving up an 8 point lead in 32 seconds.
ISU plays in a very fine 10,500 seat arena.
Kaza Keane leads his team in assists, with 89, despite playing less than 20 minutes a game.
He's been limited due to a concussion. Doesn't look like he's much of a shooter, though.

He shoots free throws like Ryan Brooks. He has to learn to take better care of the basketball, too, but he's a fun player to watch. Still happy he's a Redbird, though. The MVC is interesting this year, with Wichita State, Creighton, Indiana State, and Illinois State.

He's got an 89 assist to 55 TO ratio.
I think he'll be a good player in time, but I think
the Hurley's made the right choice not to bring him in,
even though he was 100% lock according to 12345.
The other 100% lock, Anton Wilson, greatest shooter in the history of mankind,
is averaging 1.7 PPG in about 8 minutes a game.
Another Detroiter that we were recruiting,at one time, Martez Walker, has grade problems.

Big time. We had a four page thread on him on
the old board.
He was one of three Preston recruits, who were supposedly going
to come here if Murphy stayed.
We only got Hare out of it, and it looks like that's a good thing.
Keane probably would have been here, but he screwed around waiting for a high major
offer that never came. When Minnis came in, the door closed.
Keane was shocked, as was his prep school coach.
He wanted to make some big announcement after he graduated.
Bit him in the ass, bigtime. Everyone thinks they can do the Lebron James thing.
"I'm takin my talents ta Kingston!"
Bobby told me they didn't think Keane was anything special.
Then again, most coaches and fans say that about guys that don't come in.

Martez Walker has had a difficult year, but he's playing great for Pershing. A team that can wait and take a chance on him with his grades could end up with a steal, but that doesn't come without risks. And I should add, programs who are trying to recover academically do not usually have that luxury.

Lee's played only 8 games for EMU, and averaged 5.5 PPG.
He hasn't played since 12-8-12.
Can't find any recent news on him.
Didn't EMU have one of the ex-PC thugs that went to jail?
Who's doing their recruiting, Baron?

Yeah Rod, Eastern Michigan looks like idiots. They brought in James Still and then once he was found guilty they released him off the team for this: "Eastern Michigan policy on student-athlete discipline states that any student-athlete who is convicted of or pleads no contest to a felony charge be permanently dismissed from the team."

Why let him in when you knew what he did?

Why let Ray Lee in with a four count rape indictment hanging over him?
It's like Dodge City.

Side note:
The Illinois rebound was absolutely flagrant. The guy is looking right at the player when he does it. He looked in his direction both before and after the rebound. Ask yourself...when is the last time you've seen a leg out-streched like that in basketball on a rebound??? Almost never. You're usually too busy looking at the ball. You have to hold your leg up to get it like that. It's gravity defying.

Maybe they were assuming he would only get probation or a suspended sentence? When I first saw the sentence for Still, I was surprised at its length - Rhode Island can be notoriously lenient on some offenders - but I didn't really disagree with it.

Vicious play there, good call with the Flagrant, but serious blunder in the act of carrying it out. Just saw that the refs from that game were "disciplined" by the MVC because they awarded the free throws from that kick to the WRONG PLAYER (not sure how that happened, given that they reviewed footage to determine that it was flagrant). The player who took the free throws and made both shoots 81% from the line, the player who was actually kicked shoots 59%. Wichita State ended up winning by one.
