A quick thank you

Unread post by EricRueb »

All,
Not going to get into the details, but I was fired by The Narragansett Times today and will no longer be covering the team.
I wanted to thank everyone who said a kind word about my writing, sent me an email to talk about the team and even the ones who thought I sucked.
I don't know what the future holds for my writing or my career, but I hope to someday be back covering the Rams.
At least now I can go to games and cheer. Or be disgruntled.

I thought you did a good job.
Best of luck to you in whatever you choose to do.

in business came after I was fired.

Agree with Rod, I appreciate the job you did and hope you can be back covering the Rams soon.

I know I always enjoyed reading what you wrote more than the trash that Donaldson or KMac put in the ProJo...

Good luck in your future endeavors, hope to still hear from you on the board!

I liked your coverage.

I know from friends who've worked for the times down there that its a cesspool run by turds themselves. Newspapers are dying anyways. Best of luck moving on man.

If you say you’re a Rhody fan, I know you are my brother. For you have suffered as I have suffered.

Good luck to you Eric. During the last two seasons, you were one of very few writers who told it like it was and questioned Baron's coaching. I enjoyed you're articles. Let us know when you land the next gig.

I look forward to reading your next article, Eric, since you were one of the few who would get beyond the superficial coach-speak to give fans of this team some insight into what was happening on the court and behind the scenes.

Not sure if I would appeal to this board for sympathy.....go ask Jim or Billy Baron how sympathetic this board is :-)

Eric hasn't set Rhody basketball back to the stoneage.
Billy left on his own. He didn't get fired.

I wonder how long it will take for people on this board to stop bringing up Baron in every thread no matter how irrelevant. O/U 5 years?

Nah! We still bring up Jerry The Clown, and it's been 12 years since he was coach.

Sorry to hear that, Eric, because I thought you had real talent in both analysis and writing. I hope you can get some assignments with a sports blog and channel your career in that direction. Good luck in all you do!

Figures. Best URI reporter [along with Kenyon] around, and you get canned.

Good luck, hope you can land a gig covering Rhody somewhere!
